bearing in mind i need a new pair of shorts!!! right finished a ride yesterday and went into a well known bike store to use there changing rooms asked the lad if it was ok he said yes and made a bee line straight there, got in there and saw a pair of endura shorts hung up looked at the tag size large my size, could"nt help thinking should, should"nt i after all i didnt go anywhere near the clothing section so i could have said they must have been already in there and picked them up with my stuff by mistake but anyway walked out of there with my head held high and left the shorts in there so the question is as the subject says???

  • Definately a tempation - good on ya for resisting. I'd have left them be, simply as I don't like to think of myself as a thief - I'd like to think I'm better than that. Plus I spend enough time moaning about all the scum in the country that I wouldn't want to be a hypocrite either.

Plus it could have been an elaborate ruse....

    What? You nicked/stole/half inched/piked them

They were in a shop and you walked out without paying them. You are pikey scum! Ifr comeone walks out of your garage with your bike without paying you what are they?

Do you want congratulating for not stealing them? You sound like a proper scumbag!

I went to our local co-op last night, there was a Cervelo R3 outside, full Dura Ace, Zipps etc, not locked up. I technically wouldn't have been stealing it, as he'd not locked it up. Oh wait... I'm not a pikey!

No, he specifically says he didn't.

Wouldn't have been tempted at all, why would you be? I can manage to walk into any number of shops without thinking about stealing anything, I didn't realise that wasn't normal.

I don't get this thread. So the question is would you be tempted to nick them?

Err, no. And no again. And even if the OP said he thought twice, I don't get why this question even crossed his mind!

But anyway, why were clothing hanging in the changing room an option anyway? If it's on the peg there or on the peg in some other part of the shop, it's still theft if you'd taken it without paying. If they'd fallen off the peg onto the floor, would that have made them a viable target?

    I don't get it.

    :?

(oh, and if you had tried it, they probably had a security tag so the alarm would have gone off anyway).

    This thread is FUBAR.

You were tempted to steal them because they were hung up in the changing room and not in the clothing aisle? What difference does that make in terms of thoughts about stealing, you still have to walk out of the shop without paying.

This is either a very poor troll or you are just an idiot.

Strangely enough I wouldnt have thought about stealing them, just like I dont when I take clothes I want to try on in to a changing room myself.

I dont know what the difference is?

  • I don't understand this either.

Were you intending to steal the shorts from the shop? I'm not saying that humans are never subject to temptation, but I think we all know the answer to this one.

What would your reaction be if someone stole your bike etc?

my conscience would never let me steal those shorts. its not somethig i even consider as an option. thieves are the worst of people, i reckon worse than any other scum we have on the planet.

good on you for not stealing but it isnt something you should be congratulated for really. just like you dont need to be told well done for drawing breath.

i bet a roadie would have stolen them though.
