Hmmmm.
- "Has anyone got a pair of straightening irons I can borrow"
- "No, I wouldn't recommend my dentist"
- "Why does everyone victimise me?"
- "You have a very soothing voice Rich...."
- "Make sure Sophie stays away from me, I don't want to test positive"
"Ok, it was me that left the burning paper bag of dog poo outside the Cervelo bus"
Maybe?Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

Interesting.
Perhaps Bob ain't got the cash?
Maybe, surely if he could afford to offer him a longer contract it would be a no brainer with the amount of quality wins and media coverage he gets?"I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
Also from Twitter:
JillADouglas @rbmoore73 the Cav stuff should be in the BBC website sometime soon! Manx radio were also talking to him.

Think they've (HTC) already let Griepel go for next season,so,that would leave them without a top sprinter?
Maybe they can't match a preemptive strike from Sky??so many cols,so little time!0 -

Goss has got the makings of a top sprinter IMO. And they have Leigh Howard coming through. They're no Cav, but considerably cheaper.Twitter: @RichN950 -

Let him go to another team, then you either change focus (Go for the overall?) or face him head on & accept you will, likely as not,Looseso many cols,so little time!0 -
I don't agree with the fact that keeping Cav is worth it's weight in gold. If you remember back to 2008, High Road's success was built on young sprinters and time triallists getting wins in all kinds of races.
They had Cav, Greipel, hell even Ciolek weighed in with his share!
Howard and Goss (although he's far from young) could perhaps be the new breed of sprinters like the aforementioned threesome were in 2007/80 -
Perhaps they want to concentrate on Teejay or Tony Martin, or Velits.
Perhaps Bob just hasn't secured enough money to make an offer yet. When you're competing with BMC and Sky you need to have deep pockets. I think Cavendish would take less money from Cuddly Bob than he's want from BMC / Sky so we'll have to see.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Here's the story
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/cycling/9076903.stm
Looks like the last contract he signed doesn't incentivise him enough and he wants a new one, HTC seem to be playing hard ball.
To be honest sounds like a lot of posturing pre contract negotiation - as Greipel has gone he holds the cards, unless HTC are fed up of his antics.0 -

As mr_poll said, just the stage one of his new contract negoitaions, with whoever that ends up to be.0 -
He'd be mental if he even considered Sky no matter what the package was.
Perhaps Bob is worried about what him and Brammier will get up to.0 -
"I haven't been offered another contract yet so I don't know why that is. "
Maybe because you're such a whinger and regularly slag off your own team in the press? Just an idea, like.0 -

why would he? bacause they only get top 5 places with their pretty poor sprinters"Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -

Only one particular member, and he's off to BMC now. Cav has always been full of praise for the rest of his team.0 -
The interview has been expanded on on cycling news http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cavendi ... c-columbia
Interesting quote about the CG“It doesn't matter what standard that is - whether you ride for Team Sky or whether you ride for the Isle of Man, you ride. You've got a team to work with so I'm here to ride with the guys and they'll give me 100% and I'll give them 100% and hopefully we'll do the Isle of Man proud.
Why would he mention Team Sky and not HTC???0 -

Do you mean Greipel? He's going to Omega not BMC.
He also said Kirchen cost him the green jersey in 2009. And the year before that, on that programme he did for Eurosport, he was talking about how one of the support staff gave the team wrong info about a bend in the final of a stage and he goes "whoever that was, I hope they lost their job after that"
He's quick to praise his team-mates when he wins, but he's not averse to sticking the knife in either.0 -

Er no didn't.
Seem to remember cav gushing howfantastic it was kirchen was helping in his lead out train and he never said he hoped the guy who did not do his job was sacked at all. He said it was a serious clanger that could have got got him the sack.
If I were in his position and someone was payed to do a particular task like check the run to the finish which he failed to do and that resulted in a defeat for me I would make sure he got the sack! It’s the most beautiful sport in the world but it’s governed by ***ts who have turned it into a crock of ****.0 -

Oh Cav....just as I started to think you were growing up a bit....
Hopefully it is just a bit of posturing to try and get a better deal, but even so he still comes across badly here. I really don't think any team could offer him the kind of support and opportunities that he gets at HTC and hopefully he's smart enough to know that."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0
