Commuting v Turbo?

Hi
I did my first sportive this year, 60miles, and want to have a go at some 100mile events next year. At the moment most of my “training” comes from my commuting, up to 1.5hours a day. However, much of that is at a recovery pace.
I know one or two people view these as “junk” miles while others say they are all miles in the bank (a bigger base etc.) – Would I benefit from reducing my commuting, and therefore the overall time on the bike, and introducing some more focused turbo sessions?
Thanks

Why don't you up the intensity of some of your commutes?.0
