Having inspected my stools for cyclists, after reading of your problem, I find I am passing only peanuts and sweetcorn.

When I was very young and working in a garage if we made a mistake the boss would say " Apprentices I've shit em" I ve applied it to the two who rode past me as I was trying to extricate myself from the concrete pipe I had fallen into......

Have I read this correctly, some body ( motorist presumably) travelling at 60mph in middle of the road forces you to take evasive action leading to you falling off and yet your are ranting at 2 cyclists for not doing something they are not required by law to do?

    Is that correct?

    a) I would have thought the source of your anger is the motorist

    b) whilst the cyclists may have ignored you ( or not seen you) and that is not a nice feeling for you, you have no RIGHT to expect them to do something

It seems to me that you are venting your anger at the wrong source. The cyclists did nothing to csause your hurt or injury

Oh I see Spen666 I am the naive one.I suppose if you saw someone mugged in the street you would walk past and say nuthin to do with me.I thought we were a community of cyclists who looked out for each other. I do, stopped on Sunday to see if someone
was ok who was mending a puncture. Its like the club guy down the road who has left a local club because they dont stop on a Sunday run if you have a mechanical.I suppose the two guys who passed me were so intent on getting a good time in the next TT or beating Fred Bloggs in the upcoming Road Race they cant see what is in front of their eyes. Maybe I am too much of a child of the 60's but people with your attitude make me puke. Otherwise very good wishes
  • You're 100% sure they saw you?

Bernie, dont take this the wrong way...

Whilst I sympathise with you (we've all had some c*ck run us off the road I reckon) dont blame the other cyclists. They may not have realised what exactly had happened. The times when I've seen other cyclists or jogger emerging from bushes or ditches is usually because they've gone there to have a dump or a p***.

Come on, this is getting a little out of hand,

If the whole thing happened the way Bernie says it did, and if the two guys did see him rolling around with his bike at the bottom of some ditch then he has good reason to feel aggrieved.

Granted, this should be aimed at the moron who ran him off the road in the first instance.

I for one would definately stop and help under the above circumstances.

But only if he promised not to eat me.

I dont see anything in any of his posts that suggests they saw the incident take place. Only that they saw him emerging after. If thats not the case and they did see it then fair enough - they'd be c*cks too. Same if they saw him covered in blood, which hasnt been made clear.
  • Are you sure it was a car and not Bhima on a training ride? Could you smell bananas?
The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.
  • I wonder if the 2 passing cyclists could claim this as a scalp in SCR?
Would get down on the drops more if the gut wasn't in the way!

You're missing some vital bits of info here - Shimano or campag? And were you wearing a helmet?

This thread is bizarre. Did the OP bang his head by any chance? Was he wearing a helmet? Perhaps he should get checked out for concussion as he doesn't seem right in the head ....
Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.
Think how stupid the average person is.......
half of them are even more stupid than you first thought.
  • If they saw him he is right to get annoyed, if they didn't they aren't at fault.

I think that is what is in question his perception of the event versus ours as we read his post.

+1 from what I've read from the OP, I can't really judge. I can imagine all sorts of scenarios.
  • I think to OP should complain to Wiggle as they are obviously at fault.
  • I must agree with the sentiment here, when I'm out I always give a verbal recognition of another biker & I'm usually ignored .Punctured the other day - wheel out- changing tube & two "gents" sailed past , completely covered in ads. & colour - completely ignored me, now I could have been have been struggling etc. they couldn't have cared less, I suppose that's what you get when ride for team aldi. So to the biking brethren of Barrow/ulverston/Cumbria be a little more polite as it doesn't cost anything.
  • bizarre post fella - would be helpful if you replied to the obvious question of did 2 passing cyclists ignore you in a ditch having seen you in an accident..otherwise you might just be that car driving troll....
