Powertap "do it all" tyre

What tyre do I get for a powertap wheel? I want to use it both on the Turbo and out training over the winter, but don't want to have to change my tyre every time I switch use (I hate that!)

Was thinking about a Gatorskin, but not sure how the metal layer would sit with a turbo - what's everyone else doing?

I use a Bontrager Race Lite. It has a thick slick rubber strip in the centre...

It lasted me all last winter and is still going strong!!

NapD - looks like those have the same tech (basically) as the conti's, do you use them on the turbo as well?

Yes, I use that tyre as a do it all all year round outside and n the turbo. If going for a longer ride I'll swap to my preferred winter/training tyre, a Vittoria Open Pave.

    +1 for the Ultra Gatorskin.
I've had one on my PT wheel for over a year now, use it on road and turbo, even use it for road races! Only change it for a TT.
Going to buy some more very soon.... Faultless.

Sorry, Kevlar - looks like metal when you cut the tire (unless I just had an old one?)

It may also depend on your turbo. Mine eats tyres so would never use the same one for road and turbo. Some turbos are nicer to tyres.

I have a special turbo tyre as my old turbo was screw normal tyres up after about 10 mins, recently got a new one and might try a road tyre on there, would be useful to be able to take it out and use it on the turbo without changing tyres!

I use GP 4Seasons, and have been fine on my turbo, rollers and outside as a winter tyre on my PT wheel for over a year.
