Not wanting to be pedantic but are we talking national jersey or national champions jersey? Isn't Thor's the champs jersey or do the whole squad wear the same? The GB champs jersey is very nice, the GB team kit less so (although I don't dislike it as much as some).

As has been said - the first jersey is the National Champ jersey that he wears instead of his Cervelo kit - used in all pro races. Second one is the generic Norway jersey that the whole Norway squad wears. (But each rider gets his own Pro team added to their national kit in a subtle-ish way). I just showed pics of both.

Cheers, wasn't trying to be difficult it just looked exactly the same whereas a lot of the champs jerseys differ from the national jersey. I agree it is a nice top though and very distinctive.

How is the GB kit having Sky on any different to any of the other national kits which have sponsors names on? :?

The difference is.... the GB riders don't actually ride for Sky! Normally you get your OWN Pro team sponsor name on your kit. (But in the case of the GB kit - don't they also have their pro team logo on the shorts?

Do the Italians ride for Skoda then?

    I see what you mean.

Some national teams have a named sponsor (like Sky or Skoda). Some don't.

My National team kit only has the country on it - not a specific sponsor.

This version was somewhat better. By the way, why is Daniel Martin wearing a british jersey?

Because he's half British and brought up in Britain. He only opted for Ireland when BC failed to recognise his talent as he wasn't well suited to the track or something along those lines.

I had a GB top from a friend who was in the junior squad back in 1990 which looked really good and was the most comfortable top I've ever worn but I wore it to death. I need to find a picture of it as I think it's the nicest of the GB tops I have seen.

My clubmate back in '92 rode for the GB junior team, and they wore 'Manchester 2000' jerseys which I really liked. Luckily, he gave it to me to say thanks for lending him some TT wheels for the Junior tour of Greece (yes, the squad didn't even provide proper racing wheels to their riders back then - how times have changed !).

My favourite country's top (both national champs jersey and national team jersey) would be Belgium too...

And I like the Scottish kit, although I've not seen it around much. I hate Whiskey, but do like the following jersey:

This is the design I had. Still think it looks good now but the simple red, white and blue stripes of G's champs jersey is nicer.

Any guesses why David Millar's kit doesn't have the Sky logo?

  • Not quite an answer to the Op, but I really like the way Katusha 'tweak' national champs jerseys and put in their skyline. Very tasteful and rather quite good.

Why doesn't DM's shirt have sky on it? The man at the tshirt printing shop had run out of letters?

+1 for the Welsh kit, not that I am biased in any way  Wales also has the best National Anthem. Not that you are likely to hear it in Delhi very often
