Nice idea J,
I'm not quite sure where you're declaring the end of the climb....but anyway, track stand at bottom line then white 'motorbike hill climb' finish line 3:56 or Cattle grid 5:08.
It's a private road so I've always thought it'd make a good bunch start hill climb venue - if such a thing exists.0 -
I stopped the clock at the start of the top layby on the right (before the top cattle grid).0
-
If I remember I'll give it a go when I'm on holiday next year...0
-
Did it on my MTB a while ago and had to stop for a breather half way, I wonder what the grade of it is!
Gonna give it another go soon now I've got my snazzy new road bike.0 -
If you go out that way let me know, i wouldnt mind giving it another crack too!0

Did it today on the mountain bike (in the horrible rain) and it felt a lot better than before.
When I got back I looked at the same part of the map you did and got rid of the other bits so it pretty much matched yours.
stats are:
Distance: 871m
Elevation gain: 106m
Max slope: 24.1%
Average slope: 12.8%
Time: 6min 11 seconds
Will give you a shout when I take my road bike out on it, didn't want it getting all wet, muddy and gritty like I was at the end of the ride.0 -
good time! what device gave you the max/average slope stats out of interest?0

Ive got a HTC Legend android phone.
Tried a few apps but I use MyTracks which is made by google. As well as syncing with google maps it gives you a gpx file that you can view and see all the stats on google earth.
Best thing, its all free (apart from the phone contract!)0 -
There's something wrong with the initial Garmin data (unless my maths are up the spout or I'm reading it wrong which is more likely!). The data shows a length of 0.17 miles (roughly 897 feet or 273.5m) and a height gain of 354 feet / 108m which would make the average gradient of the climb about 39% / 1:2.5
Looks a nice climb though and certainly pretty steep!0
