Thanks guys, I'm very chuffed to have won it again. :D

The course was not to my preference at all (very rough and technical, loads of corners). So I thought the Belgians might do me on their home turf, especially after two teams beat us in the team time trial. But that got me fired up to do a good ride in the ITT and I did it - definitely one of my best rides of the year.

The road race was fun but tough tactically. Any move I made was jumped on immediately but a few other riders were allowed to escape and weren't chased. That included the eventual winner who was caught at the top of the last climb but still won the sprint. Still, last time they let me go I won by 3min so I didn't expect any gifts ;)

Luckily I knew Robin could both climb, sprint and corner better than me, so the finish suited him perfectly. He stayed out of trouble and got into the front group when it split on the hill and was able to contest the sprint. He wasn't happy with the winner, who nearly put him into a parked van at the top of the straight, but still came through for third which was a great result.

Awesome event too: pro level organisation and a lot of Belgian crowd support. And beer. I had the incredible luck to score a bottle of Westvleteren from our generous hosts at the Berendries B&B, who were chuffed to have two journo world champions (Roel Kerkhof as well) staying with them over the weekend. That hospitality can't be beaten!

Many congratulations Jeff. You're obviously a marked man and are not going to be allowed to win the road race without a major battle now that you've earned a reputation................
