    Jeeeez guys what's the problem?

Shorts - all winter, tights if it is < 0C
Short sleeved base top, with long sleeved jersey on top. Will change jersey to soft shell jacket if below 5C.
If raining, shell jacket on top.

Long finger gloves, ski gloves when < -5C

Woolie Boolie socks, cycling shoes. Overshoes in the rain, Northwave GTX as an option.

I have no blood so shorts are never an option year round. Now in armwarmers and looking to buy merino gloves and a (childsize) merino top very soon.

Only tracksuit bottoms - and not those shiney tripple stripe jobbies either. Proper warm ones.

I think full thermals are a bit OTT at the moment but some people feel the cold more than others, and it was a bit breezy the other day. It's Autumn at the moment, not Winter yet.

I think it depends on how regularly people cycle.
I cycle every day so I get accustomed to the weather cooling down and end up still wearing my summer clothes, but carry a long sleeve base layer with me just in case.

Depends on your route as well. I only have a couple of stops where I have a chance to overheat. I am sure I would wear less if my commute was sprinting between lights.

I will be in thermal bib-tights, buff, and at least 2 long sleeve base layers with the predicted weather for tomorrow morning
  • If you feel the cold, it's pretty obvious that you should dress appropriately for an outdoor activity - even one that involves exercise. Personally, I'd rather be too hot and unzip something than too cold.
Swim. Bike. Run. Yeah. That's what I used to do.

I prefer to start off just a little bit underdressed for the conditions. Within a few minutes I'll be up to temp. I hate being too hot when I'm cycling for a long time, but I can handle being a bit chilly for 5 minutes.

nearly got taken out TWICE on same roundabout last night

had to perform my first skid stop cos they just didnt see me, lit roads, 2 lights on front and reflective clothing. not good

I dont like the cold too much, got a condition where if my hands feet or kness get cold then they just simply wont warm up so i have to leave fully prepared and just cope with sweating.

9pm finishes from work are not nice now,

  • It's colder, but in a way I feel safer with my Lunar25s on and my Aldi spoke reflectors.

No matter how cold I always heat up after a mile or so so I undo my scarf at the neck, then take the hat off.

    I haven't missed a day's cycling commute since January 18th this year.

    That's correct.

Indeed. One chap in Mitcham was dressed head to toe in black, including a black woolly hat, on a black BSO with no lights. The Army should speak to him about camouflage in urban environments as he was almost invisible.

I was riding home at 1am yesterday night and noticed the tell tale crunching sound of frost beneath my tyres.

I was riding home yesterday and rode even quicker than normal as I was cold. Beer jacket failure.

Easily the coldest its been for the last few months.

The worst week is the one after the clocks change. This is nothing.

    +1............

Also bad for 'drivers' in general - lots of crashes that week as folk suddenly find they are driving in the dark.
