Is it now time to mention that Hitler had a PC/ windows/ Linux and terminate the thread - or do you want to continue the debate.

Ah, but Himmler had a mackintosh - or at least some form of raincoat:

How did you get that theme, and has the explorer bars in some of the windows changed, I was unable to get that to change whilst playing with Ubuntu in a virtual machine.

Just clicked "Black Screen of Death" and a whole load of Nazis appeared on the screen.
  • Just installed Mafia II, played for a hour or so...GTA clone  still plays fine 1920x1200, highest settings, 16XAF, no AA, although had to overclock CPU. Pretty good for a old PC.

    What GPU have you got?

Have you got PhysX turned on too?
  • 8800GT 512MB. yeah aegia enabled, GPU supports aegia. 112 wotsits. overclocking a bit higher 2.7ghz just need to ramp up HT currently 735mhz, memory close to limit at 192mhz

  • tallking of which is GTA IV playable on yours? It's like a slideshow on mine....crappy xbox 360 port most likely. To get a suitable framerate have to drop it to 800x600, and detail is so low vice city looks better  San Andreas is smooth as silk. Latest Call of Duty/World Conflict (one were you go into shopping mall and play as a terrorist) game was fine, thought that'll be it for my PC :-) Crysis was a bit slow, but couple of games based on Crysis had improved rendering so they were playable (one based in Africa)

GTA IV needs a quad core. It's playable on mine, can get laggy at times but runs fine on high most of the time.

    I work in IT.

I don't understand any of the things you're all saying.

Am I in the wrong job?

Yes, someone who does not know what a quad core is should not be anywhere near an IT job O_o

I'm in IT too. How come you don't have a clue what we're talking about? Pretty basic stuff.

probably yes, but most of it is willy waving so dont feel too bad

i bet there cases are full of neon cathodes and led fans plus an overpriced run silent psu and some very overkill water cooling system

I'm so glad I have a life outside of work and cycling that i felt no need to join in the debate and talk about the spec of my computer I built years ago which is still runing strong

    This is my PC:

    Was: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/ ... 0024-1.jpg

    Then: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/ ... C00099.jpg

    Slightly diffo now.
  • I've got a P182, it's a good case but few things don't like with it, namely space it's not big enough- depth wise could be a couple of inches deeper (space around fan and HD bay at bottom not enough ) Also don't like the slide rails for the bays, they don't lock it/screw in. For cooling and space the stacker is better.

I've got a Corsair PSU HX 450W with 7 year warranty. Similar CPU coolers, Ninja for each computer (passive and dual fan cooled like yours) I do like the Antecs anti-vibration features, which are a lacking on my Stacker (module has rubber pads, but PSU and individual HD do not have silicon spacers)

The bays do screw in, they can be properly secured.
