i can't take up running as it puts mein pain due to my knee, so I was looking at carrying on swimming but more frequently! I usually cycle around 100-150 miles a week averaging around 17-18mph on my mtb with slicks so my question is howmuch swimming do I do in order to increase or maintain my current fitness level?

Swimming is a completely different kind of fitness and works very different muscles, cycling is mostly legs and swimming is mostly back and shoulders.

It will be good for cardiovascular fitness but you will lose strength in your legs.
Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated!

    Hi there.

Have you considered deep water running with a floatation belt?
