How do you find the x0 grip shifts? Merlin are selling x9 grip shifters for 30 quid atm and I'm tempted to get them for the 9 speed upgrade of my hardrock.

    Great bike btw :)

I love Grip Shift, light, quick shifting, you can trim the front mech, very tolerant of crap cables.

Cheers mate, I think im pretty much sold on the idea now, also like the fact I wont have to worry about my stupidly thick thermal gloves making it awkward changing gear next winter.

there great mate, cant fault them in anyway. you can dump the complete cassette in just one shift, there light, cheap etc.

you'll just have to put up with a bit of piss taking (but have a look what the xc racers are using)!

Nice! Always wanted the Six Pack frame.. maybe one day!

So how does it compare to the RL? Do you still have that frame, will you be building it back up etc?

Lol, I crave details man!! :P

yeah I'll probably build the rocklobster up for a winter hack - lightweight (possibly rigid) light brakes (possibly just a rear)?

its a little early to tell (I've only done around 20miles).

geometry is almost identical to the RL and the weight is 3lb more - its also my first FS frame so its difficult to give feedback at the mo

Wow.. you've chosen a brilliant frame as your first FS!! :)

Enjoy it buddy, and keep us posted on how it's feeling after a few more miles.
