Nick, I'm taking this is no longer going to be a "spare parts" bike then?
Oh, and what's the deal with the split lever Seatclamp, does each lever give it progressively more pressure? I've not heard of them before.0 -

odd depth perception that looks like its the other side of the room
Wish you were a relative id love cheap parts0 -

50 euros though
that much!
I like the copper anti friction washer and the tab to cover the slot in the seat tube.
and both levers do the same job and i fel they should be used together.
Looks good though.
and yes the Spare parts bike is becoming a None Spare parts bike."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

-
how heavy do your scales say the orginal build is?0
-
ahh the fuzzy iPhone image. about 15Kg."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
im very interested to see how the hamerschmidt goes.0
-
removing the XT kit took it down to 11Kgish.
Which surprised me."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
How is the ride affected by the hammerschmidt is it a simple case of giving more clearance? being enclosed to avoid damage or is there an actual benefit to the riding motion?0

depends on the bike.
the main thing is a constant chain line and height from the BB which can help in a Fully set up.
otherwise it would be better if the big cog was the direct drive and the little one was a step down. rather than a direct drive on the small and an over drive on the big "gear".
but the blub is the chain retention and clearance.
Teeth i was a bit surprised as well."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
Mmm brakes and shifters fitted and bled. just waiting for the correct BB to arrive."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
What BB do you need, Nick?0
-
the correct Hammershmidt one that is now on the way FOC from Danmark.
the FR cranks have 12mm bolts and the AM have 15mm bolts and the lock/extraction rings were not coming out. the supplier had both BB labelled up the same and the parts list did not mention the part numbers...... well i had a 50% chance"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
