I think RRP is well over £100

For anyone who is interested I ended up getting a pair of these.

I've put 6 hours listening in on these today. They're comfortable but take a bit of getting used to - they are designed to run the cable over and behind the ear which caused a few problems at first but they're fine now. 3 different sized of silicone buds were provided along with 2 pairs of Comply foam tips (very comfortable but have started to get grubby already).

Initially it's noticeable that the bass is lacking, even compared with my Sennheiser CX500s. It does seemed to have got slightly better already though so I hope it continues to do so!
These are the most accurate pair of headphones I have used (my other pair being Goldring DR150 over-ears) - they pick up detail brilliantly. However, as already mentioned, the bass isn't great at the moment. Whilst accurate, the sound seems slightly cold in comparison to my Goldrings which seem to give a warmer, richer sound. This was particularly noticeable in the vocals of accoustic artists e.g. Frank Turner. However, again I think this has already started to improve.

Overall I'm pretty impressed for £40! Hopefully they will continue to improve, I think at the moment I would have been pretty miffed if I had paid full whack but I can't really complain for this money.

Please note that I am by no means an 'audiophile' of any sort so take all of this with a pinch of salt!

  • For those on a budget I use these-

    JVC

I'm on my 2nd set, the first ones lasted more than 18 months, in a dusty/grimy enviroment.

SQ won't be amazing compared to high end earphones but for £11.99 they sound good to me. Come with 3 pairs of different size silicone type buds and 1 pair of foam ones (that manage keep out the sound of grinders at work).

  • Blackspur, bass can very often be down to fit and seal. As mentioned above, I've got a set of Klipsch IEMs that are great but only if held in the right position...otherwise crap.

I'm thinking of getting some Comply foam replacement tips from Advanced MP3 players to see if i can sort it.

If you push and hold them into your ears slightly does the bass improve?
