Giampaolo Cheula (Fotoon Servetto), Manuele Mori (Lampre), Allan Davis (Astana), Olivier Kaisen (Omega Pharma Lotto) and Niki Terpstra (Milram) in the break.

And Dean and Roulston have both abandoned.

There was a bit of talk about wind being a problem on the ticker, but it doesn't look like that will be the case.

58k to go 3:34 lead the break has.
  • 18 k left and 1:10 - so will be all back together by 15k
The pack seems to be dropping the Rabobank squad
    5 still in the breakaway
  • they are hanging on 10 banner and a gap of 40 sec's
the pack are doing over 60 kph and the peloton has an ever increasing tail

    21 second gap at 8k
  • Graphic saying they are at 43mph with 3km to go...............
    Contador is the Greatest
  • 70 KPH now and there are back together with 3k to go - come on Cav!
  • WOAH Cav bunny hopped the finish line
    Contador is the Greatest
  • Cav, with a bunny hop!
  • Embarrassingly easy. Cav left them for dead.

Would have been interesting if Hutarovich or Farrar had been better positioned coming out of that last corner. Other than Cavendish, those two were the only ones who looked like they were sprinting.

Goss is getting as good as Renshaw at getting Cav in the correct position at the correct time. Not that Cav is bad at it on his own, mind.

Coming into some good form for the worlds.
  • humility from the Missile - good praise for the team and huge thanks to Goss - they did it all on the last corner
  • Another 25 points for Cav as well - he's now on 111 (will he have to ride around with only one wheel on the ground?) :)

Thats a 36 point lead on Anton but there are three MTFs coming up in a row. How many points Anton gets partly depends on whether Euskaltel want to pull the breakaways back or not, as well as how well his form holds up  . Also on whether Cav finishes the Vuelta like he says he will.

Hopefully not too soon! He needs to save some form for the sprint to 80th place ;)

I freakin' love Cav. My fave cyclist cos of his attitude and aptitude.

Ha! A bunny hop. I've never been able to one of them on a road bike. Next I expect a wheelie or I'll be disappointed.

Didn't people call McEwen a chav when he did a wheelie?

I think he needs to do some kinda bad ass skid after the line, spin round and be stopped by the time the guy in 2nd crosses the line. I don't like Cavendish, but even I would be impressed with that.

Cav is rapidly becoming the Nigel Mansell of cycling. It's not good enough to win well, people must be told there was some adversity - real or imagined - to be overcome too

me neither but I see loads of them. there were a few at the dragon ride over cattle grids this year and a couple of my club mates seem to do them all the time over drain covers
