  • I know chap - anyway, you know what I am like :)

Looking forward to this one (as with all of them) but moreso than any other. Frame is being shipped tomorrow, shall get it Wednesday, and start the build.

I shall fit the forks and headset/stem/bar combo etc, fit crown race and get the front end sorted wednesday, then a bit each night thereafter.

The wheels should be here in the next week or so, so loads of time to do it properly. :)
  • Oh also.. CWNT can you let me know how you get on with the Jolin remote kit as I am thinking of buying one... I presume you're fitting it yourself?
  • TBC - what size was the Cotic btw? I immediately thought that a 16" frame would be tiny!
  • Should arrive in the morning. Will fit it and let you know how it all goes :D

17".... so is the marin. the virtual actual measurements geo are spoy on for me, I only have a 32" inside leg

That is an awesome looking frame, love it. If I had the money I'd buy a mongoose, specifically that one, love the black and white colour scheme :D

I just noticed that you got 55 TST2's.... that damper is a right PITA, as its forever leaking and.... and Zocchi always just replace is with a new one, which takes like 2 months.....

However its REALLY easy to home service.... and when i had one i did it every few weeks, just to keep it working at top notch... so give me a PM if you ever want instructions.... The MTBR lads also worked out a pertty killer Modification that takes like 10 mins over the normal serivce, in which you remove the blow off washers and replace them with a shim stack..... Turns it into an absolute BEAST! and one of the best dampers out there, with variable compression tune, and speed sensitive damping.... does ruin your warrenty though :?

but its totaly worth doing, removes the speed spiking and other unpleasents the fork can get up to when you push it.

is that an 2010 one then?! looks like 09 graphics.... the 09 had all sorts of problems... and to make it any good, you had to do the mod i mentioned, wich ruins your warrenty.

as for Fox or RS, well both are crap really.... when you have a Magura!

Big Cheese, this is going to look lovely, like your previous builds, I'm looking forward to this one!

Looking real nice Mr Cheese, can't wait to see the finished product :D

    now that is fucking funny.
  • Righto... 90% there... :)

All fitted, all done apart from wheels being fitted (when they turn up from Merlins that is) and indexing, but all the rest is on there, and she's a Bobby Dazzler... a real head turner in the flesh. Such a lovely frame it's unreal, if this was badged Santa Cruz people would be snapping them up - it's so nice it's unreal and the 16 is the perfect chuckable size for me.

The build was going spankingly well until (and there's ALWAYS something that goes wrong) I dropped my allen key onto my brand new spanky white bars and chipped them  so now I have a matchead'size black blob under pure white paint right in plain sight too.. ho hum.

This frame as you can see is brand new and still has all the stickers on it.. kudos for supertwisted on a pleasant transaction and being an all round good egg.

Anyway, here are some pictures, I'll get some better ones up when the wheels have turned up and its finished...

Da Mighty Chicken... THATS HOW YOU DO IT!!! (only joking bud ;) )

Here she is.. she needs a name... hmmmmm

  • That Cotic was a heavy old bird. This one should be much nicer to ride. Personally, I'd want a triple ring setup, but whatever floats your boat.

Wasn't that heavy! Just too stiff for a 140mm trail bike.
