Crap. Van Avermaet as lead-out man for Gilbert; didn't see that one coming... Especially not since they're not exactly close friends, and Greg is leaving Lotto.

    Practice for the Worlds?

Belgium have made it clear Gilbert is the chief.
  • Nice one Thor and nice for Bennati to finish 2nd

    Contador is the Greatest
  • Gilbert takes the green jersey as well although it looks like Farrar or Cavendish should take it tomorrow.
  • Cofidis got a 9th place for Dumoulin as a reward for that chasing. Moncoutie said he might see how well he could do in the overall but he lost 10 minutes today. Guessing its going to be breakaways/mountains from now on.

Team Sky still suffering. Nordhaug is the only guy i can see that finished within 10 minutes of the winner.

Woo! Go Thor! Another completely random pick gets me 10 for PTP :P
  • Just had a look over the stages to come. Going to be thrilling, some real killers right up to this on the penultimate day:

  • The 2009 "he pushed me into the barrier!" stitch up that cost Cav the green.
He probably still thinks he won it fairly despite evidence to the contrary.
  • Even though he went out of his way to win it by more then the pointa difference that incident made ... just to to prove the point and shut the whining little git up ... he done the majority of his talking on the bike ... and maye some of it in a caravan with his mum and dad (yes Thor, we remember that ...)

I did panic for a second and switched my PTP pick to Bole... but went back to Cav.

If he wants to win the worlds he'll use today as a good test.

The commissaires had DQ'd Cavendish before Hushovd or Cervelo had talked to them.

    Shhhhhhh.

Please don't bring facts into the argument.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Um, I don't think Hushovd is a cheat, but if he went out of his way to do that, he failed. Cav lost by 10 points, the relegation cost him 13 and gained Hushovd 1.

And if he'd needed to, Thor would've sprinted on the final stage and got a few extra points.

Sure he put in a protest. But it was reported at the time that the decision had already been made. Either way I don't see how this makes him a cheat.
