How can Cube offer 44T XT crankset on their 2011 hardtail bikes, if Shimano´s got only 42T?

It must be a mistake on their homepage.

Could be a typo, or could be OE specifically for Cube, I'll see what I can find out.

Hmm, I can score an AMS 130 SL for £2500 at the end of Jan, might have to trade in me 2010er, it's been so good to me though...

What kind of riding do you use it for?

I'm considering a deal on a 2010 AMS 125 or the Stereo... both get similar (140) travel up front and the Stereo is obviously a bit more 'All Mountain' but I'm wondering if the AMS is all I need. I do currently have a Commencal Meta5 but never felt like it really 'fitted' me (too short lengthwise & too high). Went back on my GT Avalanche for a while whilst the Meta was in the shop and enjoyed it, clearing stuff going up at Glentress much more easily that on the Meta.

Have been considering a TrekEX8 which has less travel than my Meta but wondering whether the AMS125 (which I think has a Talas 100/120/140 fork?) would do the job? Mostly ride trail centres in Wales & Scotland - red routes with some black; had a trip to the Alps last year which I'd like to repeat but I'm probably more at the XC-Trail than AM-Downhill end of things. Love both rocky technical sections at Afan (Whites Level) and Coed y Brenin (Tarw) as well as smooth forest singletrack.

    Cheers, Chris

I mainly ride the different Trans Pennine trails and single track although when I first bought it I ventured out with friends and did a whole variety of forest riding with lots of roots and downhill sections and I managed to just keep up with my friends on their IBIS bikes.
For me I narrowed my search down to the Trek EX6 and my Cube, the cube felt a little more nimble than the Trek and the extra discount on the Cube also helped make my desicion
