Idiots! Such great riders and they let him win it. What a disapointment! So many great riders and none of them reacted (to Freire).
But not recognizing other riders is just part of his legendary goofiness.0 -
He hasn't exactly come from nowhere has he? He's been winning races, albeit smaller ones, consistently for the past 3 seasons. Today was his first GT stage win, but I doubt it's his last.0

He sticks in my memory for his ability to withstand the cold....
From the Tour of Mediterraneen 2010 when it was bitterly cold (scroll right)

"It was a little bit of a surprise – it’s my third grand tour and it’s just my first grand-tour stage victory.I wanted to come here to win a stage, so of course I am very content.I couldn’t believe when I was going to win, I could see Cav’ had some problems in his sprint. I saw it was my moment and I went 100 percent."
"My stage win at [this year's] the Tour of Poland was my first one at ProTour level. It was instrumental in building my confidence so that I could get my first win in a grand tour. I decided to follow Cavendish after being well positioned by my teammates. I stayed on his wheel and I waited for the right moment to get out. When I won I couldn’t believe, but I’d seen that Cavendish was struggling and so I gave it everything and it worked out perfectly. I’m delighted for myself and for my team."
"I am a sprinter and I live for the sprints....Now I am finding my way among the big sprinters. To beat Cavendish, who is the best sprinter in the world, is something exceptional."

"It was a very difficult day, incredibly hot and the guys did an incredible job on such tough terrain. I had goose bumps and I was throwing up I was that hot. It was only when we got to the coast and the weather cooled down that I started feeling a bit more normal."
"I’m incredibly lucky that I have such a great team of guys around me. They work so hard. I didn’t have to spend any extra energy at all. But the heat killed me. I was suffering a lot...It’s always disappointing when you don’t get a win after your teammates have worked so hard, but stage five is another good opportunity and we’ll try and take it."
This race is the first time I’ve ridden with Matt Goss. It’s not quite the same as when I’m with Mark but we’re learning. It always takes me a couple of days to get into the rhythm of a major stage race too, so we’ll keep going and see what happens."Contador is the Greatest0 -

 depends if he gets caught or not
He is from Belarus... maybe he has sprinting superpowers from all that radiation.0 -
Am I brilliant or what? The only one who picked Huta for PTP. Did you hear me shouting?'Google can bring back a hundred thousand answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.'

Ms Tree, shout even louder- you are truly a genius.
Yes Iain, he was one of Procycling's chosen 4.
And no, I don't think he's doping. Could be wrong, of course, but he has been making slow and steady progress towards this. I have him in the same category as Kenny Van Hummel- both very good sprinters, but not quite the elite (yet).0 -
