I got offered a dirt cheap ticket the other day, such a shame I can't get the weekend off. So many bands I want to see

Lock Up stage is my home for the first two days, apart from NoFX and Gogol. Can't wait

I've seen a lot of the bands on the Lock Up, but would gladly see them again. Sick Of It All were truly fantastic last time I saw them

Yeah same for me, haven't seen SOIA though and I can't bloody wait
  • Lock up gets some amazing bands. Would love to see Random Hand and Bad Religion. Streetlight are awsome live as well, I would consider buying a day ticket just to see them again. If i wasn't skint i would buy a day ticket for Friday and just camp with friends the rest of the time.

But damn i'm annoyed with myself now. Ah well at least i know that none of my friends up here are off to Leeds.

If I had the cash and the spare time my Friday would be spent watching Crazy Arm and The Skints, then wander over to the main stage for Gogol Bordello and the back to the Lock Up tent to sing my lungs to death

Yeah man I can see Crazy Arm getting quite big in a few years much the same way Gaslight Anthem did, Skints also amazing live and really cool guys [and girl]. I'm reallllly up for Hatebreed and SOIA though

Now that's what i call a line up! Fantastic special attraction too. Havn't listened to them in years.

Just searched a couple of the other bands cos i'm one of these youfs. Some fantastic stuff in there. Thats a festival i would pay over the odds for.

I loved the previous band Crazy Arm were in, No Comply. They're a good bunch of guys and talented songwriters. I'm off to see them when they support Against Me!. That'll be a great gig.

The Skints are wonderful, really approachable. Unlike some 'big name' bands. I'm off to see Frank Turner tomorrow night so i'll try and slip a review in this thread for those that wanna see him

    @ north-sure
it was a priviledge to see that line up.
Lizzys` last but one gig - stunning
    Ten Years After - superb
Stevie Ray Vaughan - what can I say, he wasn`t that big here at that time, but I knew what to expect. I remember leaning on the stage barrier just a few yards away from the great man - AWESOME.

Don`t make em like that anymore. Good times indeed. More drink than is medically safe - HAHA and more acid in me than in a 12volt car battery

  • Would have loved to have seen Thin Lizzy, Steel Pulse, Sabbath, Climax Blues Band and probably most of the others too :D

    I'll see your 1983 and raise you a 1980:

    I also went in 78 and 79. I can't remember if I went in 81 (don't recognise the line-up), but I know I missed 82 and 83... :D

Given the line-up for Reading over the last few years, that is piss poor IMO. Arcade Fire as main stage headliners? lol. Not sure what Paramore are doing 2nd from top either.

    nice win
Do you feel as old as I do when you look at this years Reading.
I can only see one band I would want to see. The rest of them I wouldn`t cross the road to see them

Yeah, not much there this year worth seeing IMO. And yes, I feel rather old. Especially when thinking back to paying 50p to enter Walsall Town Hall on a Friday night so see groups like Saxon, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Quartz, Magnum etc etc. For most of them, this was before they'd released their first album... :D

This years line up is so much better than last years. Arcade Fire are a huge band and are definitely deserved of a headline slot.

That doesn't mean they're not huge, they're extremely popular and extremely talented. Not that I'm seeing them as I'll be at Bad Religion, heard of them gramps?

It was more your god awful choice of bands rather than your lack of knowledge I found amusing
