Refurbishment

Got impatient and bought a bianchi to get me fit but still doing a refurb in the colder months.
I quite fancy turning it into a singe gear bike,would there be any probs,is there anyone/where i should look at for guidance and info.
The single gear thing realy has captured my attention.
What do you think.
