I'm 32 and rock a 10mm stretch on my left ear a 2mm in the right and a 1.6mm in my right eyebrow all from before I was 22. I guess it just depends on how you feel about them, I cannot see me stopping wearing them, though there are penty of times I take them out for safety or comfort.

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford?

Usually showing off starts to wane as you get older, but if you feel the need to have people notice you then go ahead. Although it would seem that most "normal" people
don't live in awe of people who get tons of tattoos and or piercings. They just tend to chuckle or laugh. So mostly you're getting made fun of at whatever age you are.

I don't think normal people chuckle and laugh, to be honest. I reckon most people, it would appear, just don't think anything, one way or another. Unless you've gone way overboard with piercings/tats.

I'll buy that line of thought. Still when some young girl gets a "tramp stamp" on her lower back it sure does become the object of much joking and and funny comments. In the end it's all showing off. Just to different levels.

    I've not noticed that, really.
But, in all honesty, maybe it's those people who talk about girls with tatoos behind their backs in a demeaning manner that should take a good long hard look at themselves.

the last time tats were kool was in the 70's when the only folk who had them were hells angels or sailors.
these days every man and his dog has some sort of cheesy flame effect pattern up their arm.
my personnal fave is written tats across the back of the neck on many a street urchin , or chav bar code as i lke to call them.
and 90% of tats on chicks look minging , more is definately less.
and what about girls ( usually slappers ) that have tats on their boob and take pride in parading them in public ? whats that about ?
classy enough to put you off your dinner maybe.
anyway piercings ? yep did that in early 20's , grew out of it.
can kinda look lame on older folk but live and let live if it makes you happy.
