With the time ones, does anyone know if the ones with the platform are the same float-wise as the ATACs?

If you mean the Allroad pedals, yes (the mechanism is ATAC, float etc identical to 'regular' ATACs). Had a look at the catalogue (here)

I've only read page 1 and 3 - but I would strongly recommend Eggbeaters. I've been using then for quite a while now and I am completely sold. They give my dodgy knees plenty of float and they are very robust, mostly because they are so simple. Plus you have 4 sides to clip into, so they are a doddle to use.

TBH, the only time I don't use Eggbeaters is for racing (road). And don't be put off by talk of fast wearing cleats - that problem appears to be solved on the latest spec cleats.
  • I've used them before, actually... thanks Blondie.

They did seem quite good, although at the time I wasn't concerned about float etc.
