I didn't. I wasn't meant to be in the country, but ended up being (meh). So, instead of SITS, I ended up taking a car apart. Which was fun.

Only for a very brief time in a mechanic role, because Alex wanted to use a tyre lever to change his tube. On an MTB tyre, use of tyre levers is thoroughly unacceptable.

Camp was quieter this year (not just because of a lack of Avi)

I've recently come to the conclusion, however sad as it may be, that cake isn't all its cracked up to be as an energy source.

I only had two pieces of flapjack and some bakewell tart slices over the weekend, the rest was pasta based food.

Remember doing one of these 24 Team Enduro gigs, and got cramp, both legs, around 2.30am. Fell off the bike, rolled/dragged the bike off the trail, into blackberry bushes, thorns.

Layed there screaming like a baby, til guy from nearby tent appeared, beer can in hand.
Help me back onto bike to the finish.

Few hours kip, food/drink, then...fastest lap I'd done all weekend!
Watching a pale orange hazy sunrise over the mist shrouded lake made it all worthwhile.

    Well, nearly...

im well up for that next year, looks like a right laugh! the track looks cool too!

How does it work BTW? do you do it as a team, getting as many laps as you can between you?
    I like bikes and stuff

Enter a team of four, first rider runs a mile (to spread out the field of riders) at 2pm and gets on his bike to ride lap #1. At this point rider 2 gets his shizzle together and heads over to the change over area/ timing point.

Rider 1 approaches and comes through the timing mat and gives rider 2 a wrist band and a shout of good luck.

Repeat for 23 hours as many times as you can.

From the 2pm start every lap is timed from the point at which the previous rider comes through the timing mat, meaning if rider 1 comes though at 3pm and you're not ready to set off, your lap time will start at 3pm, not at the point when you set off riding.

We managed (barr a few 2-3 minute waits) to be in the changeover tent bang on time.

At the end you MUST have a rider on the course, this means that some teams loiter a few hundred yards before the end and wait for the 2pm finish horn, other than that if you come in at 1.55 then the next rider MUST set off for another lap.

Who's the chap in the drift picture ? I overtook him on the climb before the bombholes at the very end of the course, I attempted to shout team cake ! as i went by ... but it came out as more of a wimper

Had a great time and managed 7 or 8 laps, Overall i think we done 29 laps in just over the 24 hour mark ! Chuffed with the results but not sure on how they are compared to everyone else

Bike is completely farked though, Needs a service on the forks and shocks and ive decided it needs some lighter wheels

    That was me.

And if you overtook me on your 29th lap then I reccon you'll be one position above us in the finishing times, we did 29 laps as well.

    I put in 8 laps.
