    ditto HSBC, I opened my first account when I was 14, with the then Midland Bank (now HSBC) and I'm still with them

    In real terms, an overdraft is a pot of money of an agreed amount that you can dip into on your account. Interest is charged on this, and if you exceed the limit, charges are levied. It differs from a loan as you are notr required to pay it back in installments.

    To be honest though, I dont think any young person account would allow you an overdraft

    Its the right age though, a lot of boys discover banking at your age

    Iv had one since i was 11, and was told id be able to get a debit card to replace my cashpoint card when i was 13 (i think, may have been 14) but i never bothered, i only really used my account for about 2 years, now i just give the money streight to my dad who then takes it as repayment for draining his payPal account on online bike shops....

    but really , you will be able to get an account for sure, i used Loyds and they were very good and helpfull, so do all my fam and most of my friends, so i can and will recomend them.

    I got my first bank account when I was about 8. With Midland, as it was back then. I still have a little diary somewhere, with a picture of the Coco Pops monkey inside, which I done with the stencil that I got when I joined up...

    Or maybe that came from a Coco Pops packet. Surely. It was a long time ago.
