My rant....probably done it totally the wrong way but...

PLEASE PASS THIS EMAIL ON TO YOUR COMPLAINTS MANAGER

READ THIS CAREFULLY! As I seem to get different replies from different people, I will once again sum up the ENTIRE rigmarole I have encountered with my booking. I would also like to know how to make a formal complaint about being given false information on more than one occasion. I do not wish to make any further contact by phone as I wish to have a log of all correspondence with you relating to this matter, so please do not tell me to ring your contact centre, I require a written response.

On 21 June 2010 I booked the following flights THROUGH MY TRAVEL AGENT: their account is tickets.********@ymail.com

    Reference EGRHXFF
    Manchester to Dalaman
    Dep 21 August 2010 13:40
    Arr 21 August 2010 20:05
    Flight 1941
    Dalaman to Manchester
    Dep 28 August 2010 20:45
    Arr 28 August 2010 23:15
    Flight 1942
The travel agent provided me with their log-in details so I could log onto your website and add passport details for myself and the other passenger
I am Miss Heather ********, and my travel companion is Mrs Andrea *****. So I did this a week or so after the booking was made.

Last week on Fri 30th July, I tried to log onto your site to do online check-in for the flight as I like to be organised with such things....and I was unable to log on and kept getting a notice saying the reference was invalid. At which point I emailed you for advice and I was at first told, even though I clearly stated in my email I was logging in with the travel agent's account details, that I could not view my booking because I was the customer not the travel agent and I was trying to log in with my email address....which was total nonsense! I had already logged on once using the travel agents details to add the passport numbers etc.

So, I emailed back and again highlighted this point and was told that there was a system fault but it should be OK. I WAS NOT ADVISED at this point that there was a problem with the booking, so obviously nobody could be bothered to check the reference number properly on either occasion!!!

Thinking it was a system fault I left it for the weekend and tried logging in again to complete the check in process on Monday 2nd August, and low and behold again I was unable to log in so I emailed again and was told to ring your call centre, which I did that afternoon. I was then advised that the booking had been CANCELLED due to a suspected fraud on the credit card used to pay. I should point out that my travel agent received NO NOTIFICATION THE BOOKING WAS CANCELLED!!!

I spoke to the travel agent about the matter, who advised that as they are a travel agent, they work on an invoicing basis with you so THIS WAS NOT PAID ON CARD. Now whether you have dummy card details to put through your system for travel agents who have invoice based accounts for you I don't know, but there was no card involved!!! So in your latest email you tell me the booking has been refunded to a card...which is also NOT POSSIBLE! The travel agent is also chasing the matter with you however going by the poor responses and misinformation I have had previously, and the length of time I have taken to get anywhere, I feel that I should also continue with my quest to get this sorted.

I am out of the country from tonight until Tuesday, leaving me only 10 days from when I return to get this sorted. I stand to lose a lot of money if I cannot get to my destination. As you can imagine I am extremely stressed out and upset by this matter! I cannot condone the way my contact has been 'skimmed over' and important pieces of information disregarded to give frustrating and useless responses. Also being continually lied to and misinformed is not a good reflection on your company. None of this is my fault yet I am running round like a crazy person trying to sort this out!

I hope that you have taken the time to read through this properly on this occasion and anticipate a useful reply!

    Regards,

    EDIT: Nevermind, already sent.

I'd remove the "crazy person" and probably get rid of the CAPITALS, if you haven't sent it already.

TBH, you just want it nice and short:

'I made a booking, you cancelled it without telling me. Please give me a seat on the flight I originally booked. You said you've paid the money back to a card. You haven't. You've still got the money, so book me a seat on the flight, using the money I paid you when I made the original booking.'

That, but with a bit more details obviously.

Trust me I started off short and simple and they couldn't understand that.

But they are all people with non English sounding names and without wanting to sound racist I don't think they are able to, or can be bothered to read what I wrote.

I am hoping it will get referred back to the UK if I kick off.

When I called their contact centre I got a guy caled 'John' who sounded suspiciously like he may or may not have been from Bangalor!

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooes!

Can you not fly from a different airport with a different carrier or anything? You're in Sheffield right? Well, within an hour's drive there's Robin Hood, Leeds, East Midlands - a bit further and you're at Manchester. gotta be some option?

You didn't get the flights, you booked with the travel agency.

Whatever Easyjey have done to cock up, it should be the travel agency who sorts them out, replaces them or refunds you. Unless there's something a bit dodgy going on...

Actually, thinking about it - you shouldn't have to even talk to Easyjet. It _should_ be the agency. I see why you are though! You're kinda stuffed without them...

Yer travel agent has said they will contact easyjet but, with how useless they have been and the fact its taken a week to get this far I don't like their chances in getting anywhere very quickly either and time is running out.

He/she/it's got a point. If you booked with the travel agent then it's their mess. Have they got your money but they haven't got you a flight?

Oh I know and like I say I am chasing it with them also. And, it is easyjet's cock up not the travel agent but the agent SHOULD sort it. I am just impatient as it's so close!
