Well I am pi$$ed off, stressed out and ready to either start crying in a truly girly fashion or hit someone/something!

After 5 days of chasing about after Easyjet and being told 'system problems' were preventing me accessing my booking, I now get told that my reservation HAS BEEN SUSPENDED due to payment on a card with suspected fraud! WTF! I made the booking through a travel agent, one in Spain who my family have used many times to book flights, so it's not something simple I can resolve. I am now reliant upon them. I emailed them Friday and was told they would look into the matter on Mon, I have heard nothing, I emailed again today telling them what easyjet told me....

Whats the betting I get ignored.

Holiday fail :(

21 August but I am going away on Thur eve to Germany/Holland and won't be back til mid week the week after...so leaves very little time to get it sorted when I come home.

My friend has been very good about it, and has said worst case scenario we can drive there in her car, but, its about 20 hours drive and having to find the money for gas and ferry etc is a pain. I can't make her pay for the flight (I paid for these originally) if we don't go on it now can I so that leaves me £350 down before I start :(

I suspect that's what they've picked up on... Card registered to a UK address used in a travel agents in Spain.

I got a phone call from my card company last year saying that they've suspended my card and will send me a new one through the post.

When I asked why, they replied...

"Because we suspect a fraudulent transaction".
"We have a transaction showing for £60 in the Shell petrol station in Betws-y-Coed".

I told them it was me... I just got back from a week away. They still cancelled the card. :?

It wasn't my card, I did a bank transfer and they paid on their visa, but it may be a UK card the travel agent uses as they are British but they do use it all the time! They are usually super quick at replying to emails and are very helpful, but now something has kicked off, not getting very far!

I hope you get it sorted, its a british travel agent you say?

If you get any sh1te from the travel agents, I know they are a long way away, but I can recommend a great travel solicitor, Ros Fernihough at Edmunds and co (http://www.edmunds-co.com/travel-law.php) I really hope it doesn't come to that sort of action though

let me get this straight then

You booked the flight and paid travel agent

Travel agent paid easyjet on their card

Their card suspended due to suspected fraud

you having paid them and not easyjet are reliant on them sorting it out as the money is in the travel agents hands as your card is not suspected of any fraud?

Do you have a number to phone them? rather than email them, if you are talking to them, they can't just ignore you really. If you have no joy, do you have a consumer show on local radio?, I had some trouble with the AA once, and the threat of Ed Doolan worked wonders, I'm sure their good name, the word fraud and local media might make them think. Also maybe consider speaking to your C.A.B or Abta? I presume you have a receipt for payment for the flight

With regard to alternative arrangements, I'd leave it as long as you possibly can, hopefully its just an honest mistake that will get cleared up as quick as its happened, but its stress that you obviously could do without

Then get the D Lock out

See that sounds now, a more plausible explaination. I should have kind of wondered what a travel agency was doing paying for flights on a credit card. Hopefully this means good news, and no stress

FFS I think I am going to cryyyyyyyyyy.

Easyjet have now told me that the booking was cancelled and refunded to a credit card! that there was no fraud.

Even though it wasn't and the travel agent works on an invoicing basis.

I have just spent an hour writing a complaint to easyjet which will probably get ignored...it's a right rant!

Not heard from travel agent yet :(
