Did my first sufferfest vid on the turbo tonight  OMG those videos are brilliant.

For those that interval train on the turbo how many times a week do you do it?

I tend to do mine just once per week, mixed in with outdoor rides for the rest of the training week (another 3 sessions)

Outdoors (for me) at the moment is a touch warm (to say the least) and very humid, so a pain - but still more "realistic" than the turbo & Sufferfest.

I alternate between Revolver and Downward Spiral each time, to avoid too much complacency!

If you plan to do them more often, check the Sufferfest website for alternate approaches in how to use them to increase the variety.

I have used them for over/under training, hill climb efforts (stay in the same gear, increase the turbo resistance and lower the cadence) and the "standard" intervals.

    Which one(s) did you get?

When at home, I use my turbo maybe once per week.
When at work I'll use a gym bike almost everyday!!

I got them all, I did the fight club one last night. I can't get out tonight so thought I'd do another one tonight. Then I can get outdoors for the rest of the week,

Don't do intervals twice in succession!... You'll beat yourself up, then struggle to recover...
I wouldn't do more than twice a week, with at least one day between them...
If you rode hard enough yesterday, you shouldn't really feel like doing them again tonight.

If you can do them 2 days in succession then you're probably not doing them right

Just get on and do it. It will not do you any harm at all.

Well I did the revolver one.. which was very different to Fight club and I found it much harder... I didn't enjoy it as much though I'll be honest. I can feel it today though.

It wasn't really about doing a second lot of hard training more about getting my fittness up, so I did it moderately. Meaning I pushed myself but not to the limit.

Spending time on the bike when I can't get out is helping me get my weight down and improve my fitness.

Whatfore then is this sufferfest? Is it linked to your turbo or do you just watch it?

If he had enough in him to set the record on his second, successive day, maybe he hadn't tried hard enough on the frst attempt!!!

Exactly. He would have been training for months, building up to it, so his body was used to the intensity and time. The only thing that should kill you the day after on a bike is if your doing something new e.g going 25 hard miles further in a century or doing an extra set of 2x20's etc.

But thats not the aim... cus.....its all about progressive overload and recovery...
