They need a different / better DS though. How many times have we seen them with excellent trains...... at completely the wrong point in a race.
That's more to do with their riders, no? They can't use Flecha or Thomas as the last man as they won't be able to match Renshaw, Lancaster, Hondo or other specialists. If they used Hayman, Henderson and Sutton then they might have more success but obviously they'd still be hunting for second place behind Cav.

The team seemed an odd mix for the Tour. Wiggo was the big protected rider but had little support for the mountains, most of the riders looked like "poachers" capable of winning stages from a breakaway. Certainly Flecha, Gerrans and Pauwels are known as riders happiest doing this and are not necessarily seen as team players.

Nah- How many times did we see exactly the same scene played out in the Giro, which makes me think there is some kind of problem in the car.

Another thing that baffled me - Final day in mountains, send EBH on a break. Ummm, he'd done a couple of reasonable sprints so why not save his legs on the off chance Cavendish has a bad day.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Lets be honest here, Sky created a team from scratch. The got themselves a mix of decent riders, guys with potential and one or two talents (EBH, Flecha and argueably Wiggins). No doubt they were hoping some of the decent riders would use the opportunity and step up to the plate. Unfortunately none of them really have. Add to that EBH's unfortunate injury and a potentially good early season was instead rather average. Then they go to the Tour and fail badly.

For me, there are some guys in the squad who look good. Without doubt EBH can be the man to drive the team forward and will hopefully be flying in the coming weeks. Geraint is clearly a talent and I hope to see him progress more in the coming months. Ben Swift is also on the cusp. Maybe Sutton too.

Then there are the guys who have had a disasterous season so far, which is a far longer list. Simon Gerrans and Bradley are the two most obvious on that list. EBH fits in here right now too.
