Ben 6899 : whether I choose to write War & Peace or use a 1 word answer - who are you to make out I have no right to say what I say ??

Do I actually attack others and what they say , the answer is no , unless you attack me and try to undermine my right to my freedom of speech anyway.

Attitudes like yours are well...... simply just that.... attitude's.

His comments about mental illness now taints every person with mental illness and has behaved reasonably.

I too have been denied treatment - CBT for my Aspergers Syndrome. Know where I can buy a shotgun?

There are a lot of people in this country who naively take the media as gospel. There are people who beleive what they want to. There are a lot of people who have a pop at the police, courts, men, women, mentally ill or non mentally ill and everyone else because they dont know the facts, and base their opinions what their best mates neighbours cousin heard. The facebook site is an example of this.

To Rapid Uphill, would he be a legend if your family were shot by him? I dont predict an answer very soon.........

I don't mind how much you write and I'm sorry if you feel I'm attacking you; that wasn't my intention.

But generally your posts tend to sway here and there it's like you're taking every opportunity to bring up some other issue and get on your soapbox; the Rapha keyfob thread saw a couple posts about Adidas sweat shops and vegetarian sneakers...

And if you don't know how to connect the dots and make conversational 'leaps' to other topics of conversation then your not very intelleejunt are you eh!

    Ben6899: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Thought I would refer you back to this that I 'said' a few posts back on this thread.

And I have every right to taking every opportunity to bring up some other issue and get on my soapbox, I do this for a few different reasons, one being that thats how I usualy discourse on any matter or subject & the other reason being that it aids others to formulate their own opinions on differing subjects that may or may not be relevant to a particular topic of conversation at any one point in time - in other words, theres more than just you reading this Ben6899 and seemingly irrelevant things to yourself could in fact be actually related in some way or aid someone else in speaking up their opinion.

Yes I read that. Thanks for reposting.

Most on here are bright enough to know the details of the Iraq war or how large sporting manufacturers may or may not use "sweat shops". It's very noble of you to point it out, but most can generally make their own connections.

of course thats the idea, everyone should make their own connections, so therefore I can make mine, problem solved for you yeh?

so lets see if we can get away from the uppity comments on how I actually 'discourse' yeah and instead , either read what I say or not , or take what you want from it without automatically just jumping to conclusions that everything I say is sh!t - like I need someone to tell me that one!

I'm not sure thats true. If that were the case surely mr/mrs ninja's creative connections would be de rigeur instead of being ridiculed. Most people who think of themselves as creative are infact the most blinkered, and simply link one media led concept to another. None of us exists in a vaccum and the more we share our world views/experiences the richer we become. Free your mind mr ben....dont be afraid of randomness and abstraction.

OK babestations on now gotta go. :D

    Wow !!
Didn't really expect this to generate such reactions !! Actually, of course I did, I was interested in peoples views :D

    Personally:

I think the site was a disgrace and the people commenting negatively on it should be removed from society. That said, I don't think it should be taken down, there is the right to free speach. The problem here is the medias response. Had they chosen not to publicise it and create the media circus, 35000 people could have praised Moat in their own little world. After all, 0.05% of the population signed up to it, it's disgraceful, but hardly worrying (especially when you look at the people on there, surely it's exactly the behaviour you'd expect from them).

Cameron was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Had he done nothing, people would have moaned, but by contacting Facebook it's contributed to the public's raised awareness. I think he should have publicly condemned it, but at the same time, stated that he's currently got far more important things to worry about, and left it at that.

    As for Moat;
He planned to kill his girlfriend, but, not through lack of trying, didn't succeed.
He planned to kill her partner and succeeded.
He marched up to an unarmed policeman, who was seated in his car, and shot him twice in the face.

Lots of people split with their partners, or find out that their partners are having an affair, but it's only the real idiots who decide that shooting them is a suitable way to deal with the situation.

There is talk of mental illness, or the state of his mental health. I'm sure that most people who comment, haven't got a clue what his mental state was. But he was a heavy user of steriods which does bring out aggression.

Mentally ill or not, I refuse to believe that he didn't know what he was doing was wrong. The fact that he'd been in prison for assault would indicate that someone has informed him that you can't go around doing that sort of thing.

And he declared his intention that no policeman was safe.

Sorry, he's better off removed from society, and this out come has saved the country a lot of money in prison costs etc (that said, I'm sure the enquiry will cost millions !)

I would guess that buckled_rims has yet to go on a gratuitous shooting rampage, culminating in his own suicide, so my money is on 'moaty' being the more insane - or you of course, you wierdo.
