What chain do you use?

Don't see this topic much on biking forums considering its such an essential component to drive the bike.
I've had bad luck with Shimano chains which come stock on many bikes, with most snapping.
Sram, have been better for reliability but I like to remove the chain every month of heavy riding and clean it in jam jar of white spirits, the powerlink can be a to get apart. - also my srams have rusted very easily.
I now always buy Wippermann Connex chains, my first was the connex 920 teflon coated, the split link is incredibly easy and the chain very smooth shifting. Although the blue coloured alternate links started to wear off.
I now buy the connex 908 nickel for my steeds, which is very resistant to rust. May try the nickel steel version for next chain purchase.

Sram PC-830 and still going strong for 2 years.

SRAM PC991 for me too. No problems so far.0
-
xtr 9 speed. never had any problems with them.0

I've read good reviews on KMC chains. This is what I would buy if was going to replace the SRAM that my Trek 6300 came with:

....although I've had no problems with my SRAM so far....After uphill there's downhill0 -
KMC or Connexx Wipperman here. Had no luck with SRAM or Shimano chains.
The old Sachs ones were good, but deteriorated rapidly when SRAM took them over.0 -
971 or 991 for me too.
Usually to buy in Bulk from Merlin.0 -
Wipperman 908 here too. Though I did have a bit of an idiot moment when I bought my new one, put it on and it was skipping so bought a new cassette and that skipped too...problem was I hade put the connex link in the wrong way round DOH!0

I was using KMC X9L for ages but they went up in price so gone with their X9-92, good performance and not too expensive.
SRAM are good, never had a Shimano chain I was completely happy with though. And I won't be using the KMC X9SL again in a hurry, very light and strong enough for pedalling but the cut links are so weak, they bend at the slightest knock. Race day basicallyUncompromising extremist0 -
KMC for me. Rediculously easy to remove to clean and strong as hell.0
-
PC951 and change often.0
-
I bought my first chain wear tool Park branded last week too, was expecting year old chain to be totally gone after winter of extremes. Not even at the 0.75 wear stage yet0

KMC X9 93 as it was in stock and on special offer when I needed new chains-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

TBH I don't see the point of fancy chains, I get whatever the cheapest one on ebay is and it makes the wheel go round, who needs more than that? And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

991 when they come up for 18 quid0

Sram PC 951 usually although ATM I am using a PC 971 since it was cheaper than the 951 with a new cassette that I got.
No difference other than the 971 stays shinyer0 -
Cheap KMC ones of Ebay. About £6. Cheap enough to change when needed. Keep them lubed. Never had one break.
Probably not the lightest, but my stomach probably weighs as much as 10 chains anyway.

SRAM 991 solid pin.
Copes with my 20stone pedal moshing. Also shifts a lot smoother with the 970 cassette I find.0 -
Shimano HG53. it came on the bike. I've read that these break quite easily so I think I'll be getting a spare but will go for a sram.0
