    Sella 2nd.

If only Pozzato had finished up there, it could've been the Oily, the Bad and the Ugly.

Ricco wins again and maintains his overall. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in a bigger team next year.

At the end of the TT today, Ricco rode into a motorbike and it sounds like he broke his nose.

    Might not start tomorrow.

Revelling in the misfortune of others particularly when it relates to physical damage here is evidence of a low character.

Come on Ricco. Big team next year hopefully and big aggressive wins.

Yeah, that Nelson is a bit of a meanie. Personally the accident sounds like karma and I suspect quite a few riders will be wondering if the weasel Sella can also fall victim to another misfortune.

Several riders are already having a go at Ricco and a new team for 2011 might be hard, unless he takes a very low salary, a bit like Virenque who joined Domo almost for free.

Which riders have been saying what?

I am not concerned with his salary to be honest, I just want to see footage of him on bigger stages.

I still don't get how some dopers are received with no problems by the fans and others are targets for unrestrainted hate. Don't want to go into that though on this spoiler thread.

That looks seriously nasty; a huge amount of blood. More even than the Footon rider in the TdF prologue.

Stefan Who? What a load of BS to say he speaks for most austrian cyclists?!!!!!

Remember this guy and the Austrian doping rings? pfft

If it was "so" many riders against Ricco comming back we would have all heard of it..

    Thanks for the quote.

That rider (whoever he is) is simply not realistic. He simply says he thinks two dopers should not be allowed to ride.......I'm sure there are a lot of people that think that generally and it is not a very damning thing to say at all.

Don't think his opinion will have any bearing on a team sigining him, particularly given other dopers as well as suspected dopers being able to get rides in bigger teams. I'm sure some teams would never touch him but would like to see him get a ride nonetheless.

Why, have you spoken to some of the others in the race?

I think it's more to do with the headlines of "ex dopers win", this only awakens a few sleeping dogs and so the sport struggles to escape its past, Kohl included. Kohl's manager, Matschiner, will be court this autumn.

What has that got to do with Ricco Winning? One persons opinion is not going to make the slightest difference on whether a BIG team signs him next year and Ricco starts kicking some ass?

Lets be realistic Kléber.. Ex Dopers sign for teams all the time. Look at this week for example Andrey Kashechkin signed for Lampre.. I have not heard any riders having a fanny wobble because of it?

Look what happened when vino came back and started getting results.. there was a few mumblings going on and now its over..

    Marco Pinotti did.

There was booing until Vino manned up a bit, admitted he'd done wrong and didn't act like a tool. But he wouldn't have signed to a top tier team if he wasn't the boss of it.

Several aren't happy but money talks. Kashechkin is close to Kazakh oil company which has links to AMPO, a basque chemicals company. So Kash has been shopping for teams with a sponsor in his pocket to pay his wages.

As Iain points out Pinotti is not happy. But it's rare for riders to speak out, they'll tend to express reservations in private.

I ain't saying what he did was right and for sure he needs to deal with the consequences when he signs for a large team and rejoins pro-tour. I presume the reason no one has signed him yet is there is still a bit of a bad taste left after he was ejected.

Presumably the extra blood he'd topped up with for this race meant he could still go full gas to the finish?

I'm surprised he could bleed that much as his blood is too thick.

Also, I don't know if anyone saw Ted King's comments the other day. He was doing a live TDF chat and said that Ricco is one of those people that the majority of the peloton was unhappy to see back.

I have the link somewhere but can't be arsed finding it just to prove a point.

[Comment From Tim in KY ]
Ted, how is Ricco being being received in Austria?
    4:40
i am Ted King: Ha. Great question Tim. Not very well.
    4:40
C.F.Pelkey: Have you had a chance to speak with him? Any interest in talking to him?
    4:41
i am Ted King: He certainly goes uphill well which bodes well at a race like Tour of Austria which has 4 tough tough finishing climbs.
    4:42
i am Ted King: I have no interest in talking to him whatsoever. In the final tough 15km yesterday, my teammate Stefan attacked a handful of times. As I said, Stefan is about 9th in GC so he has a chance to do something really good in this his home race. But when he was caught, Ricco reamed him out for attacking. That's sickening, to be frank.
    4:42
i am Ted King: Ricco's gall, that is.
    4:42
    C.F.Pelkey:
    Good call, Mr. King.
    4:43
C.F.Pelkey: Out on the roads in France, the five escapees are now 42km from the finish, the gap is now 1:00
    4:43
i am Ted King: To be honest, there are very very few people who bother the entire peloton. Ricco, however, falls into that category.

"Ted King: I'll be terse in my view of Ricco to answer the Recent Comments off to the right of this window. Yes, he's unrepentent, he's unsympathetic, he's unapologetic. He doped, served his time, and is back in the winner's circle immediately."

"Ted King: He's rude to his teammates, rude to the peloton, rude to his competitors."
