Garmin 705 + Powertap + auto-calibrate?

Hi,
I've got a Powertap hub talking to my Garmin 705 through the magic of ANT+.
But I don't know how to calibrate the Garmin. I could do it with the Powertap computer but there aren't any instructions with the Garmin.
* When I click on Calibrate, I'm taken to a screen that shows that the device is 'calibrating....' but that process doesn't seem to end.
* There's a box which is ticked called 'Auto-calibrate'. What hapens if I don't tick it?
* There are some dashed lines which I believe can display a number. What's that? No number on mine.
Nonetheless I get power displayed which are pretty much what I'd expect. I haven't get compared these figures to a freshly calibrated Powertap computer yet. But I'm hoping one of you lovely folk can help me out here.
Important:
I've searched for the answer but can't find it, here and elsewhere. I also emailed both Garmin and Cyclops / Saris and neither of their respondants could (or in reality: would) answer this question.
Much appreciated!
Cheers,
Andy

Make sure the Garmin is reading the PT.
Come to a stop.
Do the calibrate.
Eventually some numbers should come up (something like -23486 or whatever) and it'll say calibration success.
Have a ride.
Make sure you do it every ride as it does wander off a bit if you don't (as I found to my disgruntlement...)0 -
Aha so you click on 'Calibrate' while stationary?
Should 'Auto-calibrate' be ticked?0 -
