you say correct tyre pressure - 100 psi is this right or wrong?? theres no mention of this in the zipp handbook
it has nothing to do with Zipp...
no good giving half answers - if 100 psi is the reason i suffer with punctures then ild like somone to explain pls - if not then will a net tyre do the job??0 -
Low pressure can lead to pinch flats no matter what rims the tyre and tube are fitted to.Ben

nothing wrong with 100psi, nothing wrong with Rubinos. If you are puncturing on Rubinos, then switching to another tyre is unlikely to make a difference. I rode through the whole of last winter on Rubinos @ 100psi without a single puncture, so I think that blaming the tyres is not really reasonable....0 -
I've ridden all year on Gatorskins... No visits from the 'p' fairy!
But, if my Zipps were clinchers, I'd put GP4000S's on them.Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

Head bangs wall.................
Run great wheels. look for puncture resistant tyres....FFS...you are having a laugh... you are obviously ham fisted or aren't running correct pressure.........
Never had issues with any high performance tyre for the best bikes, nor running seriously expensive Conti 4 seasons all year on my commuter fixed.....it's the rider !!!!0 -

oh yea so what alternative tyre did you give - or did you not read my thread as usual
Are you stupid or something..? I told you to keep the Rubinos. More a case of you not understanding english (as usual)...steelem wrote:

try reading your own thread fella - all the answers are already on here. But the idea of replacing a training tyre with a race tyre in the hope of getting less punctures is something of a fallacy, don't you think..?0 -
vittoria open pave evo cg( green paris roubaix tyre)0

Just a thought, something glaringly obvious we've all missed is:
What type of P*'s are you getting Steelem? Pinch/Snake Bites or Thorn puntures e.t.c.
It's likely that the tyres don't have much to do with it. Alot of it is luck. It's fine if you want to change tyre brand though. No harm done but don't expect less punctures or certain types of punctures to not occur. They will always happen regardless of the tyre.0 -
Steelem, make sure you buy the right size tyre, we don't want you getting 'ripped off'!

I've not bothered reading the tfrad because the answer is:
summer / nice bike Vredestein Fortezza tricomps
Winer bike - any old cheap shite
Nice and easy
EDIT: why is this in cakstop and not the buying advice forum............its such a slack forum this0 -
