The courier company wasnt UK Mail by any chance was it?

UK Mail are cowboys and should be avoided at all costs, the 2 blokes that did eventually deliver my bench looked rougher than rough and honestly dint smell very clean and hygenic either.

nice bit of stereotyping going on! UK Mail are one of the largest courier companies going.

I maintain they are cowboys, they changed the 24hr delivery sticker the company i brought it from put on the package to a 72hr sticker and even then they couldnt ge it delivered on time and in good condition.

The damaged bike was collected by the delivery
people late today, and was collected by the same muppet that delivered it!, I had great pleasure in telling him his actions had cost his company a lot of money and a formal complaint had been raised. His face was a picture.
So Friday I should be in possession of my Marin at last!!!.
The bike shop is "Rutland cycles"and I would not hesitate in buying.from them again.
The delivery company is City Link make up your own mind!!!!.

Have fun with it. Remember that it requires more sag than most bikes. As much as 30% - but don't go too far over that figure, or the pedalling will suffer.

The Foxs are great, but there was nothing inherently "wrong" with the Pikes - they're just not to my taste. I prefer the damping characteristics of Marzocchi or Fox.
What I've done is stick the new pikes that came with the new bike, onto my old wolfridge (which had crappy Marzocchi 55s, which constantly failed on me) so they're still being used, and are a great fork.

Thanks for the comments on the photos :D

Another worrying thing is, as someone pointed out, marin just don't do mail order, part of their dealership agreement states that their dealers must be a bricks and mortar shop, where customers can try out various sizes, and be advised by the shop staff.
It's all a bit hippy-ish I guess, but anywhere offering mail order on Marins can't be a proper dealer, or maybe they're selling "grey imports" of some sort.

It would be an anti-competitive practice under UK and EU law. You can't restrict supply like that, even if a contract has such a clause. Besides, even Marin understand that Corporate arrogance backfires, particularly when the product is so mass market.

City link.... say no more mate... I've had countless horror stories with them.. So much so that I refuse to order from anywhere if they use city link as there delivery service..
