Im gonna be on the Tourmalet Stage, Im hoping its not all over by then and hopefuly wiggins will still be there like last year! Im sure Contador will be there but hope he's at least 30 seconds behind so he has to attack!

Will be in Rotterdam for the prologue, with girlfriend in tow.

We're both gutted Boonen's out, though for different reasons I suspect....

Cheers gang. Will be interested to see your shots – NapoleonD, what's your carpet like? We only let certain types of carpet feature in the magazine.

  • Come on Rob, the carpet wont matter.

NapD will be watching while getting the 'miles' in on his turbo :D

Contador about to start (and possibly getting bummed).

First time I have been to the tour. Loved it! Stayed in same hotel as Radioshack team, was nearly clobbered by BMC's M. Frank as he stacked into the barrier (and a poor old guy) in front of me and got some free stuff from the caravan! A brilliant experience

I know I shouldn't but that made me laugh. Reminded me of being a kid in school. The word, not actually being bummed.

    Hi
Im gonna be arriving in france tomorrow and gonna drive up the tourmalet to La Mongie tomorrow. Thinking of pitching a tent on the other side of the Col (the side they are not riding up and walking down for a good spot on thursday.

Does anyone know how easy it is to find a spot for a tent? or if there is a better place to pitch?

    Cant wait!!

Enjoyed seeing my first ever mountain stage. Its a strange sport though where you wait hours for the guys to come through and then have to find out who won later on

Took a few photos, unfortunately the leaders were surrounded by motorbikes making shots difficult and i wanted to see them come past rather than be thinking about the best time to take a good shot.

Navarro was in the lead and looked like he was right on the edge

    Alpsholiday2010051.jpg

Further back were a few Footon guys

    Alpsholiday2010053.jpg

Mario Aerts had been in the breakaway but was now sliding down the field

    Alpsholiday2010054.jpg

Think this is Le Mev in second place looking pretty pooped

    Alpsholiday2010057.jpg

Thought i must have missed Armstrong in one of the groups so it was a surprise to see him come through 9 minutes down

    Alpsholiday2010060.jpg

And not far behind was the yellow jersey

    Alpsholiday2010061.jpg

Shot from our hotel, just a few miles away from the rest day  English speaker's naivety or French cynicism?

Some pictures from stage 9 Col des Saisies that my brother took. Really enjoyed my first ever Tour stage.

Even though there were around 15 minutes seperating the break and the gruppetto it all seemed to be over in a flash.

The corner where we were standing featured in the scenery shots at the end of the ITV4 Highlights but i couldn't see ourselves.

We were in the same region last year staying in Samoens at the bottom of the Cole De Joux Plane, and this one was taken on the Cole de Colombiere.
