Right, time for a little game. ITV showed a Tour de France Greatest Moments show before last year's event, and it's your job to guess the twenty they picked.

There's some random ones in there, and they're not all from recent times (there's a couple from the 50s)

I'll update the table below every so often when the right ones are chosen and then give clues for the ones that are harder to get.

So, away you good good people, and get guessing!
20. Abdoujaparov's crash on the Champs Elysee (RichN95)
19. Indurain's time trial 1992 (greasedscotsman)
18. The Look (avoidingmyphd)
17. Delgado misses the start 1989 (steve_pushbiker)
16. Rider protest 1998 (Neil McC)
15. Cipollini's four wins in 1998 (steve_pushbiker/greasedscotsman)
14.Charly Gaul's epic ride in 1958 (Cleat Eastwood)
13. Armstrong into Limoges for Casartelli 1995 (Cleat Eastwood)
12. Cav's four wins 2008 (RichN95)
11. Policeman crash 1994 (Neil McC)
10. Coppi to Alpe d'Huez (RichN95)
9. Merckx's jerseys 1969 (Wooliferkins)
8. Boardman prologue 1994 (RichN95)
7. Luis Ocana crashing out in yellow (redvee)
6. Armstrong through a field (RichN95)
5. Hinault and LeMond Alpe d'Huez 1986 (RichN95)
4.Poulidor and Anquetil Puy de Dome (pdstsp)
3. Roche at La Plagne (greasedscotsman)
2. Armstrong to Luz Ardiden 2003 (Splottboy)
1. Lemond beats Fignon (donrhummy)

Lance being pulled off - Oh, er Missus! - by a French dwarf disguised as a young child.

Then, getting back on, missing his SPD's thingys and kicking butt to finish.

Awesome power, strength, power, determination, character.

No idea, but I say Lemond beating Fignon has to be high on that list along with Merckx'' cannibalistic solo-breakaway victory.

Poulidor and Anquetil on the Puy de Dome?

Abdou losing his fight with the Champs d'Elysees barriers

Coppi winning on Alpe d'Huez's debut I remember was one of them.

Being a British programme, probably Cav winning four stages in 2008.

Hinault attacking alone with 2 or 3 cols to go at the 1986 TDF, suicidal attacks but far more of a feat than super teams towing rider to the last 10km. Pro cycling was more fun in the 80s

Not really a great moment but, Festina / Pantani 1998?

I'll give you that one, it was the rider protest but the Tour 98 in general is fine
  • Pedro Delgado missing the start of the TT?

I'll try and guess some more then (I actually watched the programme last year, but can't remember anything except Coppi).

    Chiappucci's ride to Sestriere
Beloki's crash + Armstrong in the field
Hinault & LeMond on Alpe Huez
    Armstrong v Pantani on Ventoux

Two more Brit-centric ones: Boardman's fastest prologue, London depart

Boardman's prologue win in '94, it is a British show after all...

    Armstrong cycling across the field.
Someone or other hitting a dog and wrecking his wheel.
Delgado being late for his sign in for the time trial at the start of the '88 tour.
Robert Millar going the wrong way at the top of a summitb finish and throwing away the stage win.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Rich N95 gets loads but steve_pushbiker gets the credit for the Delgado one (Special mention to ratsbeyfus for that one too)

Got to be some Pantani in there somewhere, either an Alpe d'Huez stage win or his attack in the rain over the Galibier to Les Deux Alps...

Floyds amazing 'beer fuelled' penultimate stage win in '96. ?! (Getting a bit desperate now!)

Good shout, his record climb of Alpe d'Huez in 1997?

The closest Pantani gets is the 98 Tour one which was more about the Festina affair

Really? Who wrote this list, Phil Liggett? What does he know?
