Roller novice

I bought some rollers a while back.
Rather than be toasted alive in the summer sun I have given them another go.
The frame has three drums.
The rubber band is joined to two rollers, if I joined up all three would I increase the resistance?
Would it make riding rollers easier or harder?
Ofton when I get on the bike (on the rollers) the bike slides off the back.
Is this normal?
Do I need to move the drum to the next hole?

    Hmmmm....
Sounds like you're backwards on the rollers if your back wheel slides off the back!

Rear wheel goes between the two closest rollers.
Front roller is connected to middle roller by the elastomer band.
Front roller should be positioned so that its centre is slightly behind the axle of the front wheel.
Don't connect all three rollers with the band.
Use your gears to increase resistance.

    How's that?

By joining up all three, do you mean by stretching the band that much further? This will just snap the band.

I don't really see how the bike can slide backwards off the rollers. The back two drums are generally at a fixed distance from each other, and the rear wheel sits between them. If you're on the bike, it would take a hell of a shove to push the bike up and out of this...

If you are using your biggest gear but still need more resistance, let some air out of your rear tyre to increase rolling resistance

The front axle should be eitherdirectly over the centre of the front roller or very slightly behind it - the front axle shouldn't in front of the centre of the roller unless you want a nervous ride! 8)
