Can anyone make a better route than this? I can't seem to avoid all the **** roads and don't know what roads are actually passable.

Any locals around the areas got any ideas?

If someone could suggest a route of similar distance, but MUCH hillier, that would be great.

Thanks.

  • Could put a detour on through the Peaks? I know it's hilly round Holmefirth way, but that's about it!

I don't want to make it any longer though.
  • The detour through holmefirth/clayton west doesn't look like it will add that much, may even reduce the overall distance.

Oh right, so go up through Ashton U Lyne then up to Holmefirth?

I never thought Holmefirth was in the Peak District so I thought you meant going up like the Cat and Fiddle or something.
  • That might better actually, I was looking to turning off at Oldham towards Lees/Grasscroft/Greenfield.

  • A635

    After oldham, do:
Lees > lydgate > greenfield > A635 (wessenden head pass) > go through holmfirth and continue on the road until denby dale > left on to A636 to connect to your other route.

used to live round greenfield area myself
