Powertap battery replacement

I don't have the removal tool - is there any chance I'll be able to get the cover off with miscellaneous tools so I don't have to spend £10 on the tool?

Also, I believe the batteries are type 357 SR44 - is this the right one?

Make sure you get the silver oxide ones rather than the normal ones otherwise they don't even last a couple of hours (mistake I made...)

You can usually remove the cover by hand if you hold something grippy like a piece of rubber over it...

Those ones from Boots that I linked to are silver oxide, just not 100% sure they're the right ones. I'm not even sure they need replacing, but I've convinced myself that I'm seeing more frequent drop outs so figured I may as well. I've probably only done 200 hours since I got the hub.

Maybe... If you have a good grip!

Just realised, when sold my old 'wired' PT to make way for the new SL+, I threw in that tool!

    Farkin' kn*b!

They are the right ones then.

For the price of the batteries, you may as well change them!

Well that was easier than I was expecting. Put an old inner tube on it and managed without blood or swearing

Then I put it straight back on again cos I've got a race tomorrow and I think its wise to start buggering about with it after the race....

Lucky - they can be really hard to remove the first time. Use a little light grease on the o-ring seal too - helps for next time and it only needs to hand tightened.
