Very nice... I was in Majorca last month and this make and model is the bike of choice for some of the big german holiday companies. Everytime I saw a group of riders in red White and black they were all riding on these lovely bikes...

At cake stops I always took the opporunity to have a closer look at this machine.

Great spec too for the money and appear to be a 'sharp' choice.

Yes the spec is good & pretty well priced too...This is my second Cube road bike...its a great ride just like the first one...if anyone has not ridden these bikes I would honestly recommend they try them.

I've just tried to buy one of those. Went into Leisure Lakes to try to get The GTC Race and decided I fancied the GTC SL. I got all excited, then they rang Cube to order one and they said there's no more available. So it's back to the GTC race, size 60 - due in about 3 weeks time.

Leech - The GTC race is a lovely bike too....I'm not surprised the stock is running low as my lbs is flat out with the sales of these bikes...you'll love it mate I guarantee...

lewishamilton - the retail is 2149 but I got a good deal

Very nice Leeroy. My mate's considering getting a Cube. One look at this and it might sway him! :)

Did you find that you had to buy a bigger size than you normally would with another brand? The Cube sizing seems a bit odd. I haven't sat on a 60 yet, but they did get me a 58 to try and it was too small. I imagine the 60 will be fine when it shows up.

Your obviously quite tall...I'm a mere 173cm/5ft8" with an inside leg of 30"....I had a 56 Cube Streamer previous to this one and it was fine but only had about 3 1/2 inches of seat tube showing and it didnt quite look right! I have ridden loads of other branded bikes and my sizing for them would be 54 in general...How was the 58 too small??

I'm just over 6ft and have a 34" inside leg. I sat on the 58 with the seat post at max and still had too much bend at the knee with my feet on the pedals, so 60 looks like the answer. The top tube also seemed a bit too short on the 58.

Hope the 60 fits mate.....What chainset did you order?

I could lie and say I went for the big boys double..... but I've gone for the compact. Don't think I've got enough miles under my belt to not need the lower gearing

I wondered about a compact but not available so decsion was made for me....i changed the rear block to 12/28...which is not a million miles away from the compact set up...I'm looking forward to seeing more Cube pics on here soon!! :P

No i don't ride a cube leeroy, i went to the shop to look at his stock of Felt bikes as they were on my shortlist , i was also shown a Cube Agree (forgot model) looked a nice bike with good spec for the price, never really read much into Cube until then, but i had my heart set on the Ridley Excalibur, just wanted to make sure, thats why i checked the Felt out before i made decision, altho to be honest if he had more Cube models on show, the decision might have been harder. You're right tho it is a good shop, been in a few times to buy bit's and bob's, usually stop for a chat, canny lad who owns it.

The Excalibur is a very nice bike....Is that what you bought in the end?? I looked at one of those..well I looked at most bikes to be honest but I kept coming back to the Cubes....

I have a Ridley Crossbow...I love that too...I bet the excalibur is a classy ride!

Just completed my second ride on the Agree SL and It just gets better I have to admit!

t is a really comfortable ride compared to my old Cube Streamer which was an aluminium frame model & sometimes felt harsh. The gear changes are super smooth with only one dodgy spot on the 12-28 cassette but I can live with that for now. I cant wait to get out on a day ride to really find out how good it is!!! 8)

The Ultremos are good although have not ridden them in the rain yet! Cant really compare them to other tyres though as I have been using Schwalbe Stelvios previous to these... 8)

Some updated photos with a new comapct chainset fitted..The double was just too tough for me.....Weardale seems a whole lot flatter with this on!

I bought the chainset from America for a bargain price and then got stung from HM customs which made it not such a bargain! You live and learn I guess.

I fitted the chainset in around 30 mins which was pretty easy I must say. I read a few horror stories regarding the pin cap etc on this chainset but it went like a dream for me without any pin tool!

I now have a surplus SLK Light Mega exo Double, 170mm, 52x39 for grabs now - guess I better get it on the classified!

    Thanks,
    Lee

  • Nice bike, the wheels look interesting, I have had a look at the citec website and interested in getting Some, so I would be interested in your thoughts about them. Have you weighed them with the tyres?
  • leeroy72
    leeroy72 Posts: 330
No I have not weighed them with the tyres but I will try to do this sometime over the next week.

Performance-wise they seem great to me but I'm no expert!
They seem to be pretty stiff, corner well & have took quite a battering in the short time I have had the bike due to all the back lanes being knocked to bits in Weardale. I had a 50mph descent today over Chapel Fell, Langdon Beck and they were spot on! I get quite a bit of squeal from the brakes but I presume thats just the pads.
