loved my intense system 4's if only they were lighter, they would be the perfect tyre

maxxis minion dhf 2.35 60a folding- tons of grip for anything from xc to am, corners amazingly, tough, yet not too heavy or slow, but best just for the front tyre.
yet to find a good rear tyre to go with it- spesh captain 2.2 s-works was fast, but not very bouncy- a harsh ride, so not good rear tyre on an ht, and it was too big- bigger than the minion, and fairly heavy- 650g+. have now got panaracer razer mx 2.3, which is good, just a little smaller than the minion upfront, which is what you want, soaks up bumps well and very light- 530g, but it feels really slow- you can hear it sticking on tarmac, and it's not very puncture resistant

I'm in love with my Maxxpro Highroller supertackys... i rode up a nearly vertical slope accidentally the other day
I know not where I am going, my future will decide. But it's not the destination, it's the glory of the ride.

Ok enough with all the sarcastic and jokey replies. Lets talk about some proper tyres.

    minions here

    front and rear specific jobbies.

just awesome, ive only had one ride in the last 8 months where i felt like i needed more grip and that was the wettest day in history

they do drag a bit on tarmac, but thats not really what they're for

Small Block 8s are my tyre of the hour, fantastic when things get dry-ish. Fast as all hell, grip like velcro on hard stuff, and do better than any other fast tyre I've used in the mud. Also they're not just race tyres so they have excellent lifespan and a durable carcass. Fantastic.

Just took mine off and went back to Nevegals, much better. 2.35 DTC is about 2/3rs the weight, grippier in everything but a completely straight line, and just about the same speed. Far cheaper to boot. I liked the novelty of having enormous tyres and the volume'd be lovely on a rigid but I got fed up of the lack of cornering grip.

My favourite tyres of all time are Panaracer MACH SS/SK (f/r).

For heavy conditions I like IRC Mudmad.

Not sure if either are around anymore...

^+1 Love the FireXC tyre on the Kona HT, awesome all round tyres!

On the FS I am very happy with the Panaracer Rampage Sport 2.35
It's like they were made for Cannock, tons of grip, predictable cornering, excellent in a straight line, under breaking and they manage to find grip in/on the gravel and pebbles that many of the Cannock Chase trails are covered in.

On the rigid hardtail commute MTBr: Schwalbe Big Apple, tons of grip and the best suspension a non suspension bike could ever wish for!

I've recently been trying out Schwalbe tyres and they blow away anything I've tried from Maxxis, Specialized, Conti and Bontrager.

Furious Fred 2.25 : Fastest XC tyre available? It certainly feels like it
Rocket Ron 2.4 & 2.25: Awesome grip and very light : The best AM tyre?

Going to get some Wicked Wills for DH use.

Maxxis HighRoller 2.5, 2.1 is awfull, but 2.5 singleply in maxxpro is epicly awsome.

2.35 ignitor in maxxpro, fast, light, and grippy. good on the back with a HR 2.5 on the front.

Conti gravity 2.3's, pretty slow, and dont like skidding, but grip like cat crap. (ime)

Maxxis Advantage, great all round back tyre.

Specialized Eskar 2.3. Well grippy and CHEAP.

Shwable big betty. BIG. Nuff said.

BTW, i like big tyres, for me big air chambres = comfort and protection that are invaluable on a HT.
    I like bikes and stuff

Conti Diesel - Great front tyre in muddy conditions, just dont use it in the dry
Conti Digga - Will rip your trail up, amazing in Loamy conditions
Maxxis HighRoller - Never before has a 2.5 been so fast, I love it
Maxxis Minion 42a - Wow, this just grips, and grips and grips.

the 2.35 highroller/ minion combo on my AM bike is superb.

Also really like the specialized Storm Control for winter XC use - grips really well in the claggy mud we get around here. Plus it's cheap.

    2.4 and 2.25 Nobby Nics - awesome!
Kenda Nevegal DTC and SMB8s - awesome!

But my fav of all time is the Specialized Adrenaline 2.0, they came up huge for their quoted size and were ace in every situation, gutted I wore them out and they don't make them any more :(
