You can argue all day that players around him play better when he's in the team but, personally, I just don't understand how he does it. I saw the squad and thought very much the same as I remember thinking when I saw him an Leicester "how are you getting in this team" and thinking of Liverpool "how come you can part with so much cash for someone with so little ability in front of goal...

The "Devon Malcolm" factor has been suggested before - if he doesn't know what he's trying to do with the ball, how the f*** do the opposition!

it looks like more of the same old same old to me. I really hope the midfield bother to turn up this time.
Even as as an Arsenal supporter I am quite pleased that Theo is not going. He's just not shown he is up to it this year. Bent must have been closer to a place, even though he's ex-Tottenham ;-).
However, I have been very impressed by Adam Johnson. I would have thought he was worth a risk.

I would have thought a strong spine is about the one thing we do have - Hart, Carragher, Barry, Gerrard, Rooney seems pretty strong to me :? it's the rest of the team that's less convincing.
I think that as usual the manager has fallen into the 'lets pick the 23 best players and shoehorn them into a squad' trap instead of the best team again. What's going to happen when Rooney gets injured/sent off god only knows cos noone's going to be quaking in their boots at the sight of the alternatives.
How Capello can pick Wright-Phillips and not Adam Johnson is beyond me and Heskey is just laughable, is he seriously saying that there are no other strikers eligible for England who can hold the ball up and have scored more goals than him ?
Also how's he going to play Lampard in the same team as Gerrard and Barry without either changing the formation from 4-4-2 (the only formation he's ever really wanted to play) or playing Gerrard out of position?
The list goes on, Carrick in, Neville out etc.etc. Depressing, depressing, depressing, glass half empty, every things gone black mother, bla bla bla.0 -
Capello made his mind up the day he walked into the England dressing room, and saw a fresh turd on the floor. "Right!" he said, "Who's sh1t on the floor!!?" Heskey stood up and said "I am boss, but I'm quite good in the air!""There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0
