Shameless plug for the guys in the central belt..... See link below to the Glasgow MTB Meet Up Group.

Free to join, free to come along. Meet some like minded people and have some fun.

I don't regret joining and go out most weeks with them. Wouldn't have done half the stuff I now do.

Tonight is Night Riding in Mugdock..... 8)

    Hi Aldo
Beecraigs is a regular haunt of mine. There's actually quite a lot of good stuff if you look hard enough (and don't mind the climb up there! :) ). As a starting point, I'd suggest following the road past Balvormie car park all the way up to the top of the hill and going along the edge of the forest in either direction. If you want any more details feel free to pm me.

    im in polmont!
may pm u about beecraigs as walked there a few times!

If you dont know it already just like to point out this book. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scotland-Mountain-Biking-Wild-Trails/dp/1906148104

Very good, done the Glen Finglas and Ardverikie runs. I think everyone up here should own this so there you are. Give you OS maps of each route with numbered instructions. Got the Coast to Coast mapped out too. :D

I've just bought that book. If anyone is looking for a bit of inspiration to get out into the wilds of Scotland then this is a really good buy IMO.

Stoo61 That Coast to Coast route looks a stunning ride and also the Tour of the Cairngorms one..... I need to book some time off work me thinks :)

I'm planning to nail it in May/June. Can't wait.

If you do the Ardverikie loop I have some advice or you, at point 4 when it says ford the river, there is no obviously visible path as it seems to suggest but as your on your way down the excellent single track you have to come off it where there is a small cairn at the sie o he trail. Took me ages to work it out.

  • From Bathgate so usual haunt is Beecraigs which I enjoy and am finding new routes everytime I go up there.

Work in Grangemouth so sometimes also hit Carron Valley as well.

Anyone know if Polkemmet Country Park has any good trials on it or anywhere else in the Bathgate/Livingston area?

Looking for local trials so any advice would be great.

Sunday mornings? Sir, I am usually recovering on Sunday mornings..... :D

But there are loads of trails in Mugdock, easy to find. Will be doing Monday night runs again from next week. Full trail lights, its great fun.

Away this weekend, but will be up Mugdock next week as I have a week off work.
