Hi, I'm looking to get a bike fitting in the Manchester area.

So far I've found 3 local options.

http://www.pedalprecision.com/Pedal_Precision/Home.html
At Manchester Velodrome.

And lastly

which I here is good but is a bit of a trek, 40 miles.

Has anybody used any of these places?
Cheers.

I travelled 80 miles for my bike fit at www.cadencesport.co.uk and it was worth every single penny.

I also travelled; to racescene in barnsley. I have had a fit done with Hewitts and although they were good, the results I got from racescene were far superior in terms of reduction in niggles while riding.
Haven't tried any of the others...sorry.

When I bought my bike from Paul Hewitt I had a bike fit with them and wasn't to impressed. They just appeared to go from numbers off a sheet e.g. knee angle at the bottom of the pedal stroke should be X degrees and so on. They didn't take into account issues such as flexibility at all. During the fit I told them that the position felt very stretched and not too comfortable but the didn't appear to take this into account, I ended up with a position that resulted in lower back pain after 20 miles or so.

I was buying a frame that was on the small side for me as it was the last one they had so that may have affected things a little in terms of set up but I have managed to sort the position out by myself now.

However if you want hand built wheels they would be my first recommendation.
