Yeah, looks like they're having some teething troubles with the live coverage. Oh well, it'll be on Eurosport soon!

As a fanboy it's always nice to see Boonen's Belgian jersey poke out of the peleton.

Big crash in the last km but Cav takes it - just - from JJ Haedo.

    Boonen down in the crash.

    Chaotic last few hundred metres.

Maybe Haedo ran out of gas a bit - he looked like he gave up a bit early as they reached the line. Good win by Cav to avoid all the trouble.

Boonen went down quite hard: http://www.steephill.tv/2010/tour-of-ca ... -kc-10.jpg

When you see those American adverts, you really realise America is on a different continent.
It is a different Planet that has it's own sports and the media only report their own news.
Overseas news is about the military or their own politicians being abroad.

I remember one year having trouble trying to find the result of the Cycling World Road Champs the day before.
Located it in a tiny bottom of the page spot, under the heading Olympic Sports that Boonan had won. Another time I phoned home to find that England were Rugby World Champs. (however there were Brit pubs the other side of town showing the game live)
That is why so many US people are on the internet trying to get International News and why so many in the last 10 years thought the only bike race was the TDF.
Pharmstrong says to them that the TOC is the second biggest stage race after the TDF and because they know no better, they believe him.
He has been telling them porkies for years.

Armstrong's comment that the ToC was the 2nd biggest race was in the context of Radio Shack's priorities.

Alan Peiper also said the same thing for HTC-Columbia.

    Try again.

Thought it was quite an odd stage. Seemed strange to me how the bunch were just rolling along and catching the break. Also interesting how Saxo Bank tried to muscle HTC out of the way before the finish. They didn't seem to panic and brought Cavendish though for the sprint. As has been said before, Haedo just seem to run out of legs, but it was still much closer than I expected.

Not sure I'm going to watch anymore stages, finishes a bit late for me. Why can't they start the stages a bit earlier for the Europeans :D

I think, longer term, this is going to be where they struggle. If they can't get the hardcore audience from Europe then there is a danger of it being a local race for local people. In February, we're all keen to see whatever cycling we can, but in May we've got Bella Italia.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
