I was out for nearly 3 hours during Fa cup time yesterday and the most pleasing thing was not what I saw but more what I didn't see...hardly any cars. Fantastic + good weather to boot.

BTW, why is Fredericks getting so many mentions of late? Ffs, it's busy enough as it is without getting even more people wondering about the place and maybe visiting. I'm sorry, but for the greater good there can be no further mention of Fredericks on the forum.

Last night on my training ride I saw -

    A) A Breeze Block interior garage wall.
    B) A Fan (not the shouty "Come on NapD, one more interval kind", the blowing warm dusty air kind)

I saw 2 dead foxes on Rayners hill off the A20, near Lenham, in Kent on Friday.

Last ride I saw a dirty great big badger splatted on the road. Had been there a while as it stank a good 100 metres in either direction.

Other than that I saw potholes

There was a big stinky Badger with a big hole in it's chest just up the road from me, it seems to have moved on now though!

    Yesterday I saw:

Several hares bounding across the road. One of these days I'm going to hit one...

A moped with two people on it that followed me all of the way up a hill, then drew alongside me coming over the top with the driver shouting something at me in Finnish that I couldn't quite understand.

Many rollerbladers with ski poles (don't ask, it's a Finnish thing..)

One very attractive female rollerblader without ski poles

Two very large women walking a dog.

A tennis ball that came rolling towards me as I was passing over a cycle path / pavement, and which I tried to send back towards the owners by doing a track stand and flicking it with the front wheel.. it would have been very cool if it had worked...

Yesterday I saw the ice cream van driver using her mobile phone whilst driving (so much for the road safety messages on the back of her van  )

A large lady eating an ice cream in her Range Rover as she was parked up in the Fired Earth car park in Knutsford.

'Cyle Event' signs by the road in Chelford but no cyclists.

Earlier in the week I saw a SIS water bottle in the gutter.

Guessed so. I went through about 1.30 and it hadn't started. Did you ride it?

j)A work colleague tending his Garden, passed him 4 hours Earlier on way out
    k) The marshells out marking roads for a 5K running race with a hill climb for bikes too at Burnmouth, (Actually ran this a number of years ago, they have a Cycle race up the Brae from the Harbour after it).
    l) A field full of brown looking pigs!
    k) 3 pigeons flew of Trees to my left in front of me and I thought ! was in Hilda's front room

That's all I can think of just now but a funny thing happened on the way back. The wind had been behind me on way out but totally dropped off by half way back. First time that's ever happened to me

While checking my bike over late Saturday afternoon I noticed a split on the shoulder of my front tyre, no spares and to late to get to LBS. No ride for me then

Just back from a 3 hrs road ride, on annual leave,I saw...

White sheep, lots of sheep. Black flies, lots of flies.

Black sheep. Not many of these. A dead little bird.

A stupid woman who passed me about 6ins away, doing 50mph plus.

Fantastic views over Tremadoc/Porthmadoc from way up high.

    Sweat running into my eyes.

Also saw my "Life" flash before my eyes, descending from Prenteg. Would have been unrideable if it was wet. Possibly the steepest road in the region...

Kits have a quite visible " V " in their tails. You see loads, and I mean LOADS in Mid Wales, flying above Red Kite centre.

Saw me a Bald Eagle in Canada once.

Red kite was my first thought but they're one of the larger birds on the birds of prey scale and as crumbschief didn't mention size, I thought maybe not. Perhaps it was a harrier - more ''medium'' sized.

There are loads of red kites around Oxfordshire too - there seem to be a lot of people feeding them and they're not averse to a bit of carrion. So, beautiful birds as they are, they struck me as being semi-domesticated.

Years ago, as I was riding in Cardiff one school hols, and a bird flew into a garden, followed by a cat, then a dog - no kiding!
All hell had broken loose ( OMG... Rob Brydon jus used this sentence on TV!) and just as I passed the gate entrance, the pigeon flew skywards, minus some feathers, and the cat shot out into my front wheel. We all stopped , stunned.
Then the cat ran off, dog following behind.

    Had 3 bent spokes.
So, yes I agree...Pussys ARE dangerous!
Today as I was driving down my cul-de-sac, a squirrel legged it out of a neighbours garden, with a cat in hot pursuit. I stopped abruptly to avoid them both. The squirrel ran up a tree and the cat sat at the bottom of the tree waiting. Not that any of that counts as I wasn't on my bike :P .

On my ride, I saw the same SIS water bottle and I got a fly in my mouth on at least 4 occasions. Urgh, one tasted vile. I also saw some workmen filling in potholes.
