a. My mate taking his two nippers for ride.
b. A dead squirrel, with its head in a drain, bum in the air.
c. A buzzard, flying really low.
d. 3 dog walkers, I said they looked like to "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. They agreed...
e. A group at a pub, who'd parked by a new, "No Parking" area on a cycle track.
f. A Volvo, actually parked ON the cycle track 200 mts later.
g. Half dozen lads, at the back of a deserted pub, doing some "deals"...
i. A pony, hung like our Government...
j. A heron in a river. Flew by me, frightened the crap out me.
k. A cat, who I thought was dead, just enjoying lying in the sunshine.
l. My "Mortality" whilst trying to get up to Nebo TV mast, about a 1 in 4, with a headwind.

On the way back:
m. My mate, on his way back.
n. Two retired people/riders, telling me that trains in New Zealand run on the roads!
o. The Good/Bad/Uglys again. p. A stretched limo, with a picture and the words, "Hannah Montana" on the side.
q. Two close calls on twisting lanes with a tractor/trailer and a dustbin van.

Yep, so in 2 hrs, some really weird stuff happening!!! Good ride though...

Yesterday as I rode toward Newcastle airport, I briefly saw an Emirates jet coming into land. I didn't hear it due to wearing earphones and listening to Foo Fighters.

I wish to god I had heard it, or else my reaction would have been less severe.

If anyone has ridden the route from Hazelrigg to the airport they will know what I am talking about.

Saw me a Eurofighter last week. Distinctive Delta wings etc.

Prob at RAF Valley where theres a training base. See loadsa choppers, Hawks, and some F 14, 15, 16 or whatever. Fast, lowww and real noisy.

Have seen two Spitfires over the last 3 ys. Possibly replicas, but..."THAT" SOUND.....

I saw two Apache attack helicopters flying towards a local high school during the Easter holidays.

Knowing the local high school, I think it was a practice run for when the kids went back

When I used to cycle from Bangor to Capel Curig the Jets used to rattle down the valley beside me around Nant Ffrancon - loved it!

Riding to work the other day I was on a cycle path that dips down under a bridge and there was a car parked up in the middle of the path directly under bridge (hidden from the road) with two slightly dodgy looking men standing by it. Nodded to one of the guys as I brushed passed thinking it was weird.

Then a couple minutes later as I merged with the road two or three police cars blasted past with sirens and lights going. Took me ages to make the connection, geezer that I nodded to was probably deciding whether to let me on my way. Cheers matey, I didn't see nothing.

Out and about lunchtime today I saw someone doing some serious looking hardcore motor paced session around Kings Bromley/ Alrewas. Good luck in whatever your training for fella...you look like you're putting the effort in!

Percy Vera: Yeah, planes eh? First time I stayed in Gog Land, the buggers used our bright orange tents for bombing practice...Or it seemed like it!

Trouble was, we didn't know the Falklands had kicked off, so there were planes, choppers, and people abseiling all over. We thought it was normal!

When out on my own all I tend to see is tarmac, and then some more tarmac.

How about a C130 Hercules following the river Spey at about 150 feet?

Last year I saw three US Marines Hercs in the same place and height following each other about 100 yards apart. THAT was impressive.

On the way to meet the others I saw

    a: a dead rabbit :(
b: 4 really miserable cyclists who didn't even say hello...
c: 2 big fat women blocking the entire pavement.
d: a 20+ yr old man on a BMX with a hoodie on.
e: a cat licking its butt in the middle of the road, it got chased off.

When I got home I saw a little sparrow eating the spiders from under the shed's roof. My cat wondering where the hell I'd been. 2 missed calls on the mobile from o2. I then went to bed and slept until 5pm. Zzzzzz

Saw a dead rat in the road, with two carrion crows eating his little face. That was tuesday morning.

Thursday morning I stop by a park after 4 miles for a drink and to catch me breath (after a couple of reasonable hills) and a cat wandered up to me meowing. Dont like cats. Told it to b***er off, I think I might be allergic. :P

My rides have been most uneventful. Perhaps because I set off around 6am.. commuting is a different story...

Last ride I saw a dirty great big badger splatted on the road. Had been there a while as it stank a good 100 metres in either direction.

Other than that I saw potholes

downfader: Pedal faster!!! They can't fly, you know.

Years ago, as I was riding in Cardiff one school hols, and a bird flew into a garden, followed by a cat, then a dog - no kiding!
All hell had broken loose ( OMG... Rob Brydon jus used this sentence on TV!) and just as I passed the gate entrance, the pigeon flew skywards, minus some feathers, and the cat shot out into my front wheel. We all stopped , stunned.
Then the cat ran off, dog following behind.

    Had 3 bent spokes.
So, yes I agree...Pussys ARE dangerous!

On a ride and I stopped for a wee in Canada in 94, and I saw what I thought was a huge log moving.

Was massive beaver. God, they are big!

I thought they were about the size of rabbits or something...

    Beaver was scary!

But on the way to Waterton Peace Park, saw Coyotes tearing apart a cow.
Don't know if the cow was dead or not.

Bear cub in BC at side of the road was just a baby, but big tho.
And they tranquilized a bear and took him off Blackcombe Mountain by chopper.

Squirrels and jackdaws in Radium Hot Springs take foo outta your hands.

We don't know how lucky we are here...most of BC/Alberta/Montana wild life out to kill ya!

A kestrel hovering next to the motorway I was cycling over.

The Manchester Wheelers on a club run going in the opposite direction.

A guy on a very, very lovely FG/SS bike. He just looked away when I complimented him on it though. :?

    Lots of bluebells.

A fat bloke on his mobility scooter 'walking' his dog (bet he didnt get of to pick the dog poo up)

    A kestrel diving at something

A Traffic warden trying to write tickets fast for all the lazy car drivers outside of Fredricks that had parked on double yellows (its on a junction) who couldnt bring themselves to walk 100 yards.

A mature cyclist RLj'ing at the same junction
    Novice runner & novice cyclist
    Specialized Tricross
