Then why the farking fark is it so farking cold?????

It's meant to be warm now! I get outside and think - "Oh, slight nip in the air... I'll be fine when I warm up cycling in"

Holybloodyhellonastick... with cheese

I got to work with icicles on my nose, frozen hair and my genitals in hiding. I'm now sat on a radiator coughing and praying. I may get piles before I drop.

(okay that last bit may be an exaggeration but I was shivering when I got off the bike!)

In the sun it wasn't so bad but due to leaving at 6:20 there were still deep shadows and I swear I saw an arctic fox wave as I went past.

Gawd it was like cycling into a freezer with the sudden temperature gradient.

It's MID SUMMERS DAY in 5 weeks!

Stop taking the pee and bleeding warm up!

You think you have it bad! Up here in Livingston I had snow on my grass yesterday morning! Snow! In May! That was a cold cycle in! Shorts were a bad idea!

TAP, TAP, TAP went the hailstones on the window yesterday!
10 min hailstorm, then 1/2 hr heavy rain then...Sun.

On the w/end, started over-clothed, was thinking of stripping off when the clouds over the Nantlle Valley went black. Pissed down, freezing, windy.
    Soaked to the skin.

Last night you could see your breath at 10pm!

    GLOBAL WARMING? When?!

I was in Northern Ireland yesterday, and went out for a ride around 0630. The fields were white with frost, but the sun was shining brightly and it was a lovely time to be out on a bike :D

    it's gotta be said....MTFU.

and that's coming from a woman, who cycles to central London at 6.30am.

I've been cycling in shorts and gilet, mostly without gloves, for weeks now. twas only the snow in London that brought out the long trousers.

Acually it is thought that global warming wil makel this country cooler rather than warmer, given the fact it has been quite cold could this be global warming? Of couse you have to buy into the whole idea in the first place  Then decided on which theory...

And, according to Metro, it will stay like this for another week!

This has completely put me off cycling! I was so mentally "geared up" for the warm weather after a few great days in April, using my summer shorts and fingerless gloves, that now the thought of using thermal tights and arriving at work and spend 5 mins peeling layers off really pi$$es me off! I know it's really silly, but I can't help it. Does anybody else feel like that?

I have to admit that I am enjoying my iPod and newspaper in the tube....!

@ MetalMonkey - we'll have none of that talk thank you! I want warmer not cooler!

Inner cities are warmer than the surrounding countryside - get yer pasty arse out into the sticks where there are FIELDS and TREES and NO traffic lights. Then, when the temperature drops below freezing as you've just gone into the shade of a copse of trees; think about how sensible cycling without gloves or covering your knees is :P

I know! I had to wrap my baby vegetables up in a nice warm blanket the other night because there was a bloomin' frost! It got down to -4 out here. For goodness' sake, that's madness.

Lovely and sunny in the daytime though. I'm taking it very easy on the bike due to a chest infection, damn it, but I was in tights yesterday.

K_B, I fully realise London is one of the warmest places in the UK and that I'm a wimp in temps less than 20 degrees . Would need a large bowl of porridge and two merino tops, matching gloves, tights and jacket if I ever ventured down your way

Let me know when it gets over 20d over there and I'll give it a go, with hayfever meds :)

PS: 'Pasty' is not a word associated with this person of African-Caribbean descent. More like a frozen brown, with bloodless fingers as I discovered during the winter :(

It was nice in the sun this morning, but I had ice on my saddle yesterday morning and I live just outside London in the garden of England (apparently - although I must live quite near the 'compost heap of England').

ICE! And it was quite a thick covering - enough for a mini snowball!

I was doing impersonations of Ivor the Engine in the car :)
