Hi all,
had this for a while, but I find that whenever I do a cafe ride, as soon as we stop I get really really cold. I have to take a gilet with me on warm days to prevent what feels like frostbite.
Anyone else get this? How can i stop it?
I don't like sitting in the sun shivering!

I dont cycle when its cold.period.
I hate it.
I only enjoy cycling when its warm and sunny. Otherwise it's a chore.0 -
May be just that your body temperature is quite high from the exersion, and the ambient temperature is much lower...
Usually, when I finish a ride, I'm fairly tired, and sweating buckets, yet my body is ice cold and clammy to the touch!Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
I get it. Usually from riding with slower riders, or I don't overdress to strip off later on.0

Sounds quite normal to me. Cafe stops whilst nice are not great for training (IMHO). And as with other postings, even when steaming hot, my stomach and backside are stone cold to the touch (dead like my other half says)! Even after a hot shower I still feel cold, gradually goes away especially once I've eaten though.0

Don't stop is the obvious answer, but usually it's beacause you're sweety and if this is the case you're better taking a spare vest rather than a gillet.0

Wear more clothes."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

Two questions;
1. Do you wear an undervest?
2. Do you carry a rain jacket?0 -
take a turbo trainer with you in the team car so you can keep riding at the cafe.0

I like this idea. Simply don't stop at the cafe and do another hour, you lazy so and so"A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

I dont think this is unusual - its just bloody cold at the moment!0

I only find this a problem when racing which backs up Hopper1. I put it down to the change in intensity / blood flow etc and probably a lack of readily available energy.
Best fix I've found is a banana for energy, rain jacket to seal in some heat and a cup of team to wraw your hands in. Works great as long as you're not shaking too much to hold the tea! :oops:0 -
Too many layers.
You're overheating on the ride and when stopped, losing the excess heat making you colder.
Why not just go to a drive through?0
